Everytime papa changes a thread heading, a Republican dies.

Jrby--he hasn't been bitter since he stopped making thread-killing references to me wearing Depends.

Quite frankly, I am having a hard time seeing how the Democratic party will become unified by the time the general election comes around.

Gore.

I just don't see either one of these candidates winning in November.
Once again it was the dem's to lose, and as always, they lost it.

I hear a lot of dems down here who say if "their" candidate doesn't get the nom, they're voting for McCain.
It would be interesting to know what percentage actually did that after McCain wins.
....but the world goes 'round

Taz - a lot of 'them' said they were leaving the country if Bush won the last one - and that didn't happen either (in most cases.) A more likely scenario is that they just won't vote at all. The main thing being talked about is 'fatigue' - it's even being mentioned on here. There're MONTHS to go yet, before the conventions even. The way things have turned out, there's going to be pretty upset groups no matter the decision, and I just see it leading to disgust and apathy by the time of the general election.

Once again.

I think crossing over to McCain is just a lot of barking. I bet some people will sit it out. I can even see making a statement by dropping your affiliation from the Democratic party and voting for a third party. But voting for McCain is irrational, and I have a lot of trouble comprehending that notion.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

hey, guys, mike gravel's trying to run as a libertarian.

a completely useless exercise, taz would be to extrapolate based on the 2004 vote totals and the recent poll that showed that 28% of hers would vote for mac and 19% of his would.

based on current national polling, their avgs are 46 for him and 43 for her.

using the 2004 vote totals it would work out to 5 million or 9% of all democrats (4% of total voters) if bammy's do it and 7 million or 12% of all democrats (5% of total voters) if hers go for mac.

way more than enough to ensure a a gop landslide. a 4% shift would have made it 55-44 for bush.

i tend to agree with dg that most of these people will just become disillusioned and not vote or vote for a 3rd party rather than still be angry enough to punch mccain's ticket. but, ya just never know with the convention at the end of august, it could be recent enough and bitter to inspire real change. heh.

no its a typo and you know it. But then again, the last bastian of someone who has no real point is to attack one's typographical errors.

You're always so mean to me, liver-puddly-cuddly.

I was making a funsy, cheek-pinching joke--couldn't you tellsy-wellsy, pallsy-wallsy?
