Clue is probably my favorite movie of all time... it's a comfort movie that i can watch over and over and it never gets old... the cast is incredible and PERFECT... and yet they are making a remake... sigh...

Jonathan Krauss , senior VP of Verbinski's production company Blind Wink, says this incarnation will be "a global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."
I've read that quote five times and still have no idea what it means.
Meanwhile, I can't wait to see Monopoly the movie. Jeremy Irons as the iron?

Posted: 2/25/09 at 8:10pmI've seen this movie literally hundreds of times like so many people and when I read this article a few minutes ago, it prompted me to put it in again. But honestly, reading the description of this "remake", it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the 1985 version we all love, so I really have no problem with it. In fact I'm kind of excited to see where they'll go with it. As long as they're not recasting and and using the same material as before I think there's a thousand different directions they could go with CLUE and this "global thriller" sounds kind of fascinating.

Posted: 2/25/09 at 9:35pmi guess a part of me is only ok with it if it is NOT a comedy or if they are just redoing it over... if it's like some espionage type murder mystery thing... eh... not my type of movies but whatever... it's just whenever i think of CLUE i just think of the comedic genius that is the original...

Posted: 2/25/09 at 10:52pmSo, Clue takes places in one mansion in one night. How do you make that a "global thriller?"

why do they always ruin good things?
I know right?! Why can't they just leave well enough alone?
There's no way they can get anyone else but Jane Wiedlin (former GoGo) to say: I am your singing telegram...*boom* (For whatever reason that part of the movie ALWAYS cracks me up)

While I'm not too happy with all of the unnecessary remakes that have been coming out lately, I'm not too worried about this one.
I think it's a good idea. The first one was hilarious, but they can remake this movie a million times with a bunch of different scenarios and I'd be happy with it. That is, afterall, what the game is all about.

Posted: 2/27/09 at 12:06ammy favorite part in the entire film is when mrs. white says "flames.. on the side of my face." I crack up every single time I watch it. Then I rewind it and watch it again. That moment can never be recreated. I don't want this to happen.

my favorite part in the movie is when wadsworth and miss scarlet are counting the bullets in the gun... one plus two plus one plus one.. haha... i love it... and pretty much madeline kahn in ever scene...
btw... i just read that they are also remaking the Neverending Story! geez... can hollywood just rape my childhood now?? haha

Posted: 2/27/09 at 6:46amCan they just MAKE the musical version instead? It is seriously underrated and the song that lists all the weapons "Knife, rope, candlestick, calabra, knife..." is totally movie-worthy. I think it's called "Everyday Devices". Anyway...

This is a brilliant, misunderstood piece of comedic genius. I seriously love this movie and make it a point to watch it a few times a year. I judge people and evaluate friendships based on how well they know this movie.
The whole thing is full of gems (because it was so brilliantly cast, right down to the singing telegram girl), but one of my favorite moments is when the cop shows up and they have to find a way to hide the dead bodies. Wadsworth is unaware of the (ingenious) set up they've come up with, and is worried about being discovered. The cop tells him, "those people are just having a good time. There's nothing illegal about any of this. It's a free country." Wadsworth's response (dead-panned)- "I didn't know it was THAT free."

"why do they always ruin good things?"
It's not like they're going to 'tape over' the only existing print of the original. No matter what they do, you will always have the first one to watch. If the new version is awful, it will be forgotten anyway.

Me too! Man I need to watch this movie again!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuBroadway Legend Joined: 10/6/04

White: I don't want a scandal, do I?
"We had had a very humiliating public confrontation, he was deranged...lunatic. He didn't actually seem to like me very much, he had threatened to kill me in public."
I miss Madeline!

Here's another:
WHITE: "He was always a rather stupidly optimistic man.
I mean, I'm afraid it came as a great shock to him when he died.
But he was found dead at home. His head had been cut off and
so had his...you know..."
The men in the room cross their legs.

The last one. Sorry guys, I can't help it. I think her delivery was brilliant!!!
WADSWORTH: But he was your second husband. Your first husband also disappeared.
WHITE:But that was his job. He was an illusionist.
WADSWORTH:But he never reappeared.
WHITE(shrugging):He wasn't a very good illusionist.

my favorite is when colonel mustard (or was it the professor) attempts to show miss white a sexual position and he gets on top of her and she says... "get off me"... madeline kahn's delivery is just perfect
