I don't go to ATC ever. Ok, probably three times last year but not even once in 2006. I have nothing to compare the experience to.
Let's go back to Mac Talk. Sorry for jacking the thread for so long as it is.
I really wanted a PowerBook but was too poor

This shows you what I know about Macs. I thought they were done with the Ibook/Power distinctions and so forth...
iBooks are white
Powerbooks are silver
Certainly it can't be that simple.
A powerbook, I imagine, has a stronger processor and so on?
for that matter, I'm curious: what do people think of the new Mac use of Intel processors?
Yes, Powerbooks do have stronger and faster processors....
The Powerbooks with Intel are too new for me to have an opinion on them. Perhaps I should play with one at the Apple Store?

I have a new iMac with the intel chip...it is AMAZING. bwaysinger, I don't know which Macintosh models you've had experience with, but I can promise you that your negative experiences are the exception to the rule. I've used Macs for years, but this is truly THE BEST computer I have ever seen/used/owned. Stable as can be, never have to reboot except when I install something new, when I *do* have to boot up it takes literally 15 seconds from pressing the power button to when I'm working...there are so many innovative features and small things that make the whole computer experience a joy, it's just wonderful, I can't say enough about it. If you dabbled with Macs even just 3-4 years ago, they are vastly improved and changed even since then, and are totally worth checking out.
Also, I don't know what problems you had with your iPod Mini, but I'd venture to say that it was more due to its interaction with Windows than the iPod itself. Anyone I know who had has trouble with their iPod uses Windows. I have owned almost every generation of the iPod for the past four years, and while there were a few issues early-on, it's been smooth sailing since then.
Basically with Macs, things just work easier, more elegantly, quicker, and more efficently.
I'd almost be willing to revisit them from your post, OandO.
I will say Mac shot itself in the foot for the longest time by its strict omission of third party platforms and such.
Oh, and my problem with the Mini has NOTHING to do with its interaction with my laptop. It's a battery issue that, having been replaced twice, now makes me think it's a hardware issue with the mini itself.
