Yes, I did her wig.
"Someone give me my hair back so I can go."

"Somebody gimme my hair so I can go!"
HAHAHAHA!
Seriously though I can't believe it took 2 minutes for anyone to tell her to chill out.

I actually thought the only funny part was "Where my do rag at?" at the end.
But I find this just sad and really scary. These are the kind of people that scare the hell out of me on the subways more than anything else.

Posted: 3/26/10 at 4:47pmI just can't believe everyone let her get in that old lady's face like that.

Posted: 3/26/10 at 5:10pmI'm with you, Jordan...more scary and unsettling than funny. There's a violent tension throughout.

"I just can't believe everyone let her get in that old lady's face like that."
that's what scares me. People don't get involved. they actually like to sit back and watch.

Posted: 3/26/10 at 5:40pmI know. She was in that poor old woman's face for a full 2 minutes before anyone even said "chill out". And even then, that's all they said.

This, right here, is the very reason I carry a tazer.
I would have put her down.

People probably assumed she was on drugs and would become even more violent if confronted.
I can't believe she never noticed the camera filming her.
Wanting life but never knowing how

Really? I totally get the impression she knows there's a camera there. She is looking straight at its direction more than the old lady in certain moments.
I agree with Jane, Stock, and Jordan. The bystander effect/Kitty Genovese Syndrome on display in the video is disturbing.

Posted: 3/26/10 at 7:32pmThe thing is, the girl was saying a lot but she wasn't doing anything that was physically threatening the woman. The woman was doing a good job of ignoring her. No one knew what kind of crazy that girl was going to whip out if confronted. It's a really delicate situation. I don't like that they didn't intervene either, but it could have gone from weird and scary to tragic in a heartbeat.

I once had a crazy man sit next to me in a park and try reading my book over my shoulder. Didn't really bother me very much, but I was very much touched when a not-crazy man sat on my other side and quietly asked if I was all right or did I need rescuing. I hope this is a staged video, because otherwise it's unbearably sad that no one did the same for that poor old lady.
