There's something about the way the prosthetics and makeup eat his face around his eyes, combined with the gleeful smile, that just says developmentally disabled to me.

Wrong and offensive, I know. It's just my visceral reaction to those promo shots. They tried so hard taking him away from drag, and making him look like a natural woman, when I think a little of that would have helped the character design and taken away from the creepiness.
