Does anyone know Renee Olstead? She's 15 years old and sings jazz and she's pretty darn amazing. I'm not familiar with Buble or Groban (although come to think of it...I did see Michael Buble at the Hollywood Bowl once...hm), but check out Renee if you can...she's fantastic. I've been listening to her CD nonstop since I bought it in June.

Posted: 2/23/05 at 9:56amIs Renee British - I read something once about a British teen who was awesome (no, not Ms. Stone, I'm familiar with her) but I can't remember her name!

Posted: 2/23/05 at 10:01amNo, she's not British - Renee plays the teenage daughter on the sitcom Still Standing, which is where I first heard her sing - in a dream sequence, she sang Summertime and I was blown away. So I picked up her cd, and it turns out Summertime is not even close to being the best number on there! She's fabulous.

Posted: 2/23/05 at 3:19pmAmerican Idiot and Les Miserables (the novel, not the musical) I started reading it mostly because I wanted to say I'd read it, but I'm really loving the story and the writing style. The book is written so that the reader gets a nearly complete view of the characters and not just the person as they pertain to one situation or the main character, which is how most books seem to be written.

I actually really like Michael Buble (I have 3 of his cds, plus the live cd/dvd). And Frank Sinatra is THE MAN no matter what anyone says.

Since starting this thread, I have become very interested in acoustic versions of various songs that have over-produced counterparts that are played on the radio. I even found some rare acoustic demo songs from the Beatles. NEATO!!!
