Looks like there will be an initial cloture vote on the repeal of DADT in the Senate today. It wouldn't be the final vote, but could be indicative if the GOP filibuster has softened.

I got an alert from one of the Texas LGBT lists I used to be on urging me to call Sen. Hutchison's office. Now THAT'S an exercise in futility. That empty pantsuit has never voted for anything gay-positive and never will. And they didn't even bother listing Cornyn's number.
Fortunately, my two current senators can be counted on.

Posted: 12/8/10 at 3:01pmHutchison is a part of the Texas GOP, which includes a platform calling for imprisonment of gays and making it a felony to conduct a same-sex marriage ceremony. Some of the pragmatic Republics might very well cast the right vote, but Hutchison is light years away from that group.
