Morosco---that's a very interesting strategy! Thanks for posting that. While I wish the selection was a little broader, there are definitely a handful of titles I would consider upgrading. It will be interesting to see how well this does. And I'm curious as to what they do with the DVDs that are turned in. Repackage them as "used?"

Disney is doing something similar by offering coupons for Blu-Ray upgrades from your existing DVDs. You get the coupons simply for providing proof of purchase, but they offer a free postage-paid service if you wish to donate your old DVD copy. I plan on giving my old Disney DVDs to the Children's Hospital.

Juts received A Room With a View today and will watch it tonight! Also, I ordered Logan's Run for $9.99 on Amazon and should have it by tomorrow. I'm so excited!

A little late I know, but Deep Discount had a great British TV sale that just ended...picked up the four-disc "Thomas and Sarah" ("Upstairs/Downstairs" offshoot) for $15.
I bought the Brady Bunch seasons individually but would love to get "A Very Brady Christmas" on DVD. Hope they release it by itself at some point...or I'll scour ebay.
B & N had a huge Criterion sale last summer too, both online and in stores. So tempted to pick up "El Norte."
We bought the Upstairs Downstairs full "megaset" last year, which included Thomas & Sarah. We're just now finishing the whole thing up! LOL Fantastic entertainment.
I sprang for The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus today. $19.99 each is ten bucks less than Amazon's pre-order price. And I think both films will benefit greatly from the Blu-ray format. They're like watching moving paintings. Jack Cardiff was an unparalleled genius as a cinematographer.
Can't wait!

I bought "Upstairs Downstairs" by season a long time ago. Good timing and big sales got me the last couple seasons for as little as $20. Didn't even know "Thomas and Sarah" existed until I saw the DVD package a few years back.
Love Pauline Collins....have "No Honestly" on VHS...you'd think Acorn Media could scrape up a few pennies to put that on DVD.
No idea if anyone has a Home Goods near them, but I found some DVDs there and they were only $4.99. I don't remember titles at all, except for Hairspray, the musical version.
