Heehee. Okay- the trailer isn't that bad in and of itself. It's a nicely done typical thriller thing, and they were definitely wise to use Ian McKellen's voice. But the lines he's uttering...oh god. *snicker*
I watched it with the sound off, and let me tell you I wasn't excited about this originally. But now I am. :) I haven't read the book so I have no idea about the characters. Just in general though, what an awesome ensemble of actors!
I have little hope for this film. Ron Howard is such a mediocre director and he actually consulted with the church to see how to make the film less offensive to practicing Catholics. Add that to a miscast Tom Hanks and I am sure it is going to be a major disappointment.
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
Eponine, I recommend that you read the book before seeing the movie. I have a feeling the movie won't be nearly as good as the book was, and I think you'll appreciate the story more by reading it. I have my doubts about the film. I'm worried that Hanks was miscast.
Is Julie Andrews in FINAL DESTINATION? Is Julie Andrews in WEST SIDE STORY? Is Julie Andrews in NATIONAL TREASURE? Is Julie Andrews in THE MUMMY? Is Julie Andrews in GONE WITH THE WIND? Is Julie Andrews in THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE? Is Julie Andrews in...
And enjoy the beauty - all the joy and beauty - that a Merry Christmas can bring to you!
Other than Hanks, who's in this film? I suppose I should watch the trailer if I want to know. When I read the book (which I hated), I kept seeing Dennis Quaid and Catherine Zeta Jones. Certainly not Tom Hanks. And, the one thing I said was that it could possibly be a good film in the hands of Brian De Palma; but, certainly not Ron Howard!

yes i would have to agree... and it has nothing to do with the fact that brian de palma is my favorite director... hey! maybe he and julie can get together and make a film...
I saw the trailer today at KING KONG -- it looks -- well, like a mediocre action thriller, which truth be told is what the novel is -- I'm sure critics will go to town over Hanks (who is indeed miscast) - but I think the film will be fun. I just don't want to hear people screaming OSCAR beore its actually released - it doesn't seem like that kind of flick, regardless of how popular the book is
