Dance Shoes in NYC?

Besides Bloch on the Upper West Side, what stores have the best selections of dance and character shoes and where are they located?

I heard there was a good store at like 7th, 8th or 9th Ave & 40th Street. Anyone have name and address for that one, as well?

Capezio on B'way and 50th street. Right on top of the Stardust Diner.

There's also the NY Dance Store on 8th and 53rd, and Sansha on Bway and 54th (2nd floor).

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

Bloch is at about W. 74th - W. 75th and Columbus

Like their shoes and also their dance clothes

They give a 20% artist discount and have 50% off sales at times

I find capezio to have a good selection of their own brand and other brands, but it depends on the store...at least the one in L.A. only carried Capezio brand shoes. They also give a student discount from what I recall...
