Ooooh, Dead Like Me! One of my favorite shows!
First of all, in reference to it's cancellation. The show wasn't cancelled due to ratings. It was actually one of Showtime's highest rated shows. It had to do with (to quote Callum Blue, aka Mason) "egos". There was a whole big thing with Showtime switching management and a lot of crap (it wasn't just DLM that got screwed over). They weren't aware of the cancellation until after season 2 ended.
But back to the fun stuff. I'm a big fan of Daisy personally. I notice people seem to either love her or hate her, and I'm in the former category. I think she had a lot of potential for some really interesting backstory ("Vacation" is my favorite episode of season 1... the one where you learn what her last thought was). She and Mason make me sqee.

I love Mason and Roxie. There were so many amazing and touching moments in that show. Roxie's death upsets me, Rube discovering more about what happened after he died, and Daisys last thought!
It was such a poignant show and it totally got screwed out of a good life. But it then again got cut down without knowing it. I'm so happy it went that way than them making a finale trying to make something crazy happen cause its the last episode. It went on a great note and the final episode although nothing special, had such a more powerful ending knowing what became of the series after that episode
It stayed true to itself the whole time, never once having the opportunity to sell out and wind up down the drain like other shows (The O.C.) are doing

I'm bumping this thread to express some DLM love - I just finished Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and it's RARE for me to enjoy a show this much. LOVED IT!

Posted: 1/14/07 at 3:08pmI noticed a while back that the boxes were different for Season 1, they are selling two separate kinds, but they are both season 1. I think the original release is better presentationally. Go to the store if you are picky like me and want a better looking package.

You can also buy it used on eBay

#37re: Dead Like Me
Posted: 1/14/07 at 3:30pmThere is no reserve and no one has bid so far. So if no one else does the price would be $9.99 plus shipping. This is only one of a number of people selling this item. This one is just one example.

So it looks like the link Elphaba posted has two different covers because BOTH Season One and Season Two (the entire series) are on sale for $19.99 each.

Oh lord do I love this show. I thought the end was fitting but they were adding things too late that made me upset. Since they never got answered. Like how George could kill gravelings. And why she could see them when she was little. I wish we had known more about Rube's death as well since we knew eveyone else's(well we never really saw Daisy's, but still). I don't know, maybe it gives him an air of mystery by not seeing the details. My theory on why Rube still looked like himself is because after a certain amount of years (when everyone they could have known is dead) they go back to looking like themselves. I don't know, it is stupid but I needed something to cover that mistake...
I actually bought this show on a whim in december and quickly had to buy season 2. I miss it and wish there had been more. I got so attatched to the characters. I love how this show didnt just stop with George's old life after her death. I love how we got to see Geroge's family, particularily Joy and Reggie(so glad that Reg got to see her sister in the end-wish Joy had too).
So glad there are other DLM lovers here.

Here's a link to a song that was featured in a few episodes - haunting, mysterious, but very sexy. I love it.

I loves me some of this show. My fav right after Angel and Buffy. Why does it seem like there aren't any good dramadies on air anymore?
Sure, there are shows that are realistically comedic, but not really any shows that are truly a mix of both.

'Oh lord do I love this show. I thought the end was fitting but they were adding things too late that made me upset'
ending? The show never ended...was taken off the air.

The end that was aired. The last episode.

a last episode is totally different than the "end" to a show.
The cast, as previously mentioned, didn't even know the show would not be back. There was no ending to the serious. All was left up in the air.
That is what I meant.

I will be more precise with my words from now on. Didn't realize it was such a big deal. Very sorry.
And CostumeMistress, that song is amazing. I can't wait until their other song that was used on DLM, "Nomah's Land", is avaliable.
There is a sample on Metisse's website if anyone wants.
