Posted: 1/24/06 at 11:30amThat is sad but not too shocking. How many times do you see people sleeping on the train (or on the street for that matter) and you don't think anything of it. I am surprised this doesn't happen more often.

Posted: 1/24/06 at 11:49amIt is sad it took someone so long to notice. But is it calloused that I think it's better to happen in a subway than somewhere where his peaceful heart attack could have endangered others, like while driving a car?

Posted: 1/24/06 at 12:00pmI agree. It's very sad for his family, but I can't help thinking that they'll take some comfort in the fact that he was sitting up and appeared to be sleeping. That tells me that he passed peacefully. I hope they see it that way.

Its true that sometimes you see someone so fast asleep that appear on the dead side. I've been tempted to check on an occasion or two.
I had a coworker once who died on the subway on the way . He had a heart attack but people tried to help him.

C - she reminded me so much of ME when I was little. I lived outside in the summer - only came home when called for dinner. I could tear my bike apart and put it back together with one VERY GREASY hand, I knew where the best grasshoppers could be found (for jumping contests) I fished in the creek by the school, knew the first names of every kid in the neighborhood and was the champion marble shooter on my block.
I used to wear my hair just like Scout too - but I couldn't find any pics. This is the only pic I could find of me when I was little, but I was a lot younger than her when this was taken. (I'm feeding a deer. You can see her better than you can see me!)

Dolly, I love you.
...and they think they're going to sniff out a terrorist on the subway, but they can't pick up on a man who's been dead for six hours?
Gee, I really feel safe now. They sure are crackerjacks, those guys!
