#1Dear iPhone, why are you acting like a child?!
Posted: 9/19/09 at 1:12pmMy iPhone, since I updated it to 3.1, I think it is, has been acting up. Sometimes when I hit the home button (to get to the "slide to unlock" screen)--doesn't do anything. My phone will just stay black, no matter how many times I push the button. I have to hard-reset it. My phone has had to "search" for service a lot more lately than it used it. It is literally RIGHT NEXT to a window at the moment and it still isn't getting any bars. Has anyone else noticed this with the new update?

Posted: 9/19/09 at 1:21pmI haven't been getting phone or text messages for the past few days. It's a problem.

Posted: 9/19/09 at 1:55pmI haven't been getting text or email messages regularly on my Blackberry for a few days now. Think something weird is happening? We're all on AT&T, right? Maybe they scrambled our phones to get us to buy new ones. lol

idk jersey girl...
my blackberry hasn't been able to access the internet for a few days, and text messages are coming in really slowly... like i'll get one but the time stamp will say it was sent an hour ago.
i'm not on AT&T tho... i'm on Verizon.

I have AT&T, but although my phone is internet capable, my cheap husband will not get me the service. He thinks all I'll use it for is playing on facebook and twitter while Henry is in karate class. Which is true, but still.
I haven't noticed anything wrong with texting or voice mails though?

I also have the black screen problem. (Well was experiencing it the other day).
Also, does anyone find when you browse BW on the iPhone, it keeps scrolling up to the top? (Making it impossible to browse)
EDIT: It seems that this might be a common issue:

It's not just a black screen, but the whole phone is turning off apparently.

Posted: 9/19/09 at 11:20pmYes, qolbinau and this is the third separate and distinct BWW glitch that is seriously impinging on my ability to enjoy this site at this point. Between the three, surfing BWW on a Mac, a PC and the iPhone can get very unpleasant. It's out of the question for the iPhone at this point.

Posted: 9/20/09 at 11:24amI don't know if this will work for everyone, but when I log into BWW on my iPhone, I use w.broadwayworld.com instead of www.broadway world.com. I haven't had the scrolling to the top problem since I started doing this.

Maybe someone here will know the answer to this question -
I had to replace my iPhone the other day and was told that when I reset it up all of my pictures and my text messages would appear again which hasn't happened. I've tried everything I can think of, but they're just gone. Does anyone know how to fix this or did the woman at the Apple store just lie to me about it?

Posted: 9/20/09 at 10:05pmI just did a total reset of the phone without backing it up. I had to reset my voice mail password and the wireless network password, but (knock on wood), I seem to be back in business.

Jordan, you must restore your phone from a backup via iTunes.
If you did not make a backup (these are done automatically when you sync your phone anyway), you have lost everything.
#12re: Dear iPhone, why are you acting like a child?!
Posted: 9/20/09 at 11:56pmI deliberately did the re-install without backing up. I had to reset things again, and re-choose what I wanted on the iPod, but I didn't really lose anything.

AT&T sucks.

But it this an iPhone? If it was an iPhone you would have lost all the SMSs.
(Which is why JOrdan, since he wants the SMSs, needs to restore from a backup.)

How do I do this?

Posted: 9/21/09 at 4:33amFor some reason, I'm missing calls and text messages for several hours--until I restart my phone. I hope Apple fixes this SOON!

"How do I do this?"
When you plugged it in for the first time, iTunes should have given you the choice to set it up as a 'new phone' or restore from backup.
If you restore again you should be given the option again..(note of course that you can't really merge the backups, so you will lose everything you have gained since the new phone [you can export your current photos manually though. Make sure (it will prompt you to) make a current backup before you restore just in case you don't [for some reason] have an old backup.)
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 under 'restoring'.

Posted: 9/21/09 at 4:43pmI have been dealing with the black screen issue on my iPhone for a few weeks. Very annoying. That and in the last week or so when I finish listening to a V/M (even sometimes when I go to end an actual phone call) the screen turns black and wont do anything for a few minutes and then lets me go back in. very weird.
