While People Can Change is frighteningly a real organization that does exactly what the article describes, I'm almost positive the article is fake.

I googled it and there's nothing even remotely similar on any other news source. Also, the article reads quite absurdly and even though Jan Brewer is clinically insane, I still don't think she'd say something as ludicrous and heinous as "Can you imagine how much more productive these ‘now-straight’ children will be not always being bullied or wondering why god made them defective?" The sheriff's quote that "We as parents can now sleep a little better at night just knowing there will be less gays out there wandering the streets trying to molest our children," is also so far-fetched and clearly fabricated.

Though I will say what's so frightening about this kind of parody is how many of us had to double check and even consider the possibility that this could be true. Scary stuff.

I posted this before I found out that it was a satire - thank god. The pathetic part is that is it written so poorly you can't even tell that it's satire. Plus Jan Brewer and Arpaio are parodies in and of themselves, and those are definitely things they would do/say. I am unfortunate enough to reside in this godawful state. It's a never-ending parade of stupidity and ignorance.
