It looks like it is gonna be great
Hopefully, it will be back next year. If so, it will really be interesting where they go with the character
They did get picked up for a third season...
I cannot wait to see how this plays itself out...no way Doakes can die...or at least not by Dexter's hand...curious to see how he gets out of that cage.

I don't WANT Doakes to die! Lila, on the other hand...
His sister gets really annoying at times
Good news re its renewal. Will they ever go back to the bloodletting of Season 1?
I hope so -- Dex restrained not nearly as much fun-- and I keep thinking/hoping they will have to have at least one Dexter sits down with his victim and explains his rationale scene this year....we'll see tonight.
Doakes may die but it won't be Dex that kills him...I think (hope) Lila might get herself dead tonight.
Lila is an accident waiting to happen. I would like her to hang around though. It would be great if everyone could but someone has to get it. My guess is Doakes as he knows Dexters secret.
With so many loose ends, it will be interesting how they are get tied up in the end.

Radi, it's funny to hear him described as "restrained"...if anything, Dex is not the "neat monster" he was in Season 1. His emotions coming to the surface are really screwing with him.
I meant in the blood-letting department. You're right through his emotions have made a mess of him this season -- perhaps next year they will strike a balance.
His involvement with Lila, finding out more about his father & the murder investigations all hit him at once. Add to that, the breakup with his girlfriend & Doakes getting on his case & you have major pressure all at once.
I am shocked he did not get a chainsaw & go into a hotel lobby & start having at one & all.

Shocked? Really? He would never do that. As f-cked up as it may be, Dex lives by, kills by and adheres to The Code of Harry. He needs order. Time and again we've been shown how it would be completely out of character for him to do anything like what you described.
One of the reasons I'll miss Doakes if he dies (and I hated him last season) is because of the terrific chemistry Erik King has with Hall.
SPOILERS FROM THE BOOK SERIES:
I know the show isn't following the books anymore, but at the end of the second book Doakes is alive, but does not have feet, hands, or a tongue.
END SPOILERS:
I'm scared to watch. I don't want everything to change, I want everything to be resolved, but the previews make it look like it might be a clifhanger.

frogs--yikes! I haven't read the books ( though I've been meaning to). If Doakes does die, I think it will be by Lila's hand, not Dexter's.
***** Spoilers*****
I told the Mrs what would happen but the ending was a surprise. No idea how he knew re where she was but it opens up things for next year
Unfortunately 2 of the better characters are gone
SPOILERS:
Sad to see Doakes die, relieved to see Lila die.

My brother in law brought up an interesting point. How did Dexter know she was in Paris? Better still, how did he get all his cutting instruments thru security? He thinks it was all a dream & Lila is still alive. This would be great.
Your thoughts?
According to the writers round table Doakes and Lila are dead. I was happy to hear that they gave Erik King ample time to prepare for it, and that they regretted having to kill Doakes off at all. I will miss them together- they had exellent chemistry. Will be very curious how Dex will evolve in season 3.
Roxie.. she did buy a airline ticket to Paris. And he is a cop.
Dexter is my favorite show on t.v. I will not miss Doakes. Never could stand him from day one. The sister is also annoying. Dexter has to get back to being himself as in Season One.
How did he get his cutting instruments past customs?
