I didn't see the show, but it got off to a rough start. I hope the show thing doesn't happen with "Smash," which premieres in February.

Vanity Fair communicated with former Playboy bunny Marilyn Miller on the inaccuracies of what happened there vs. the show's portrayal. Aside from the body snarking about the actresses, she went into what the rules were among patron keyholders and bunnies that would have actually could have made the show incredibly different if they researched it.

I had a bad feeling this show when NBC picked it up. I just didn't think it had a lot of potential neither did most critics:

I think Benanti is much better this and she needs to either find a better television show to be on or return to the stage,

I knew from the first time I saw the announcement that this show would bomb and likely be one of the first to be cancelled. It's too niche, likely too expensive, and too "much" for broadcast television.

Unless it hit pay-dirt with international sales or re-purposing on one of the 80 channels it owns, NBC - notorious for cancelling just about everything it puts on the air - would shut it down ASAP.

It's now just counting down the days.

Benanti is beautiful but the show is so awful. Anachronisms galore, and no real sense of what the 60's felt like, which the MAD MEN series has down pat. I have no interest in following it.

It tanked again in the ratings this week. It's only a matter of time before it's gone. Too bad-I had high hopes. However, whether you agree or not, this show has been pitted against Pan Am since both shows were announced. Whereas Pan Am feels fresh, flirty, light and engaging, The Playboy feels slow, heavy, dark and disconnected. ABC really does seem to know how to produce hour long dramedies that draw people in.
