I'm just wondering, because the movie is fantastic. Richard Gere should have won the Tony for his beautiful voice.
Really? Or jk?
No, it wouldn't work, how would they do the jail and the court scenes? It would be just way too expensive.
Yes, he should've!
"No, it wouldn't work, how would they do the jail and the court scenes? It would be just way too expensive."
Oh, I didn't think about that.
Also, they'd have to hire a bunch of real actors from the movies to play them...which can get expensive. I don't think it would work with a bunch of theatre actors. They're not really as good.
Terrible idea. Too many songs.
Plus, it glorifies murder!
Yeah. It would have been better without the songs.
But plays suck! I want dancing! I want singing! I want naked men!
then go see Naked Boys Singing
"I want dancing! I want singing! I want naked men!"
Someone has a Broadway fetish.
Is that a movie too?
There are a lot of movies that I wonder if they made plays out of them.
Pal Joey
Oklahoma!
Flower Drum Song
They seem like they'd be good on stage...but with real movie actors.

Have you heard about a musical called Kiss of the Spider Woman?
Was it a movie?
I think.

maybe they could cast Dyan Cannon & Michael Caine!!!
Everyone knows that kid from High School Musical is much more talented and suited for the part.
Zac Efron is GOD!
He's too busy playing Link on Broadway, though. I should know. I've seen him THREE times.
You mean they already made a Broadway show based on the movie that's coming out? ... That was fast! I hope it doesn't hurt movie ticket sales.
Everyone in African speaks Swedish.
What? This isn't the MEAN GIRLS quote thread? Por shame.
Have you heard about a musical called Kiss of the Spider Woman?
Oh, that wouldn't work on stage either, it has a real jail, and other sets from Argentina, it would certainly fail on a theatre.
blaxx, you're very wise.
Are you a producer?
What about going the other way and turning musicals into movies!
I'm a big fan of horror movies, and I think this new musical Young Frankenstein looks like it could work as a movie.
No, Taz, it couldn't - look at that cast. They don't make movies. Maybe a TV movie.
