Dina Lohan, the Cops and the misused Carvel Black Card

While shopping for an ice cream cake for her son Cody's birthday in East Meadow, NY yesterday, mama Lohan handed over her Black Card, only to have it confiscated by an employee. She explained the embarrassing incident to RadarOnline:

“The shop assistant said, ‘Do you have I.D.?' Next minute he he grabbed my arm and took my card and held it hostage and wouldn’t give me the cake! This guy was crazy! Four cop cars showed up, there’s a police helicopter over head and this guy makes it seem to the cops that I’m trying to use a stolen credit card—and for what? Over a free ice cream?!””

Apparently all the Lohans have Black Cards, and Dina had accidentally grabbed her daughter Ali's. While the employee stood strong for a while, insisting it was not her card, he eventually caved—but not without a fight. He told Lohan, "You can have the card, but you can’t have the cake!" Carvel has apologized for the incident, but notes that it was Lohan who called the cops in.

Unfortunately, the Lohan family has been abusing the card. While the card was issued in Lindsay and Ali’s names only, their extended family has repeatedly used the card without either present. At first, we graciously honored their requests while explaining that the Black Card was not a carte blanche for unlimited Carvel Ice Cream for the extended Lohan family and friends. After more than six months of numerous and large orders for ice cream, we finally had to cut off the card and take it back.

Dina Lohan reacted badly and called the police to have her card returned. The police responded and did return the card to Dina with instructions not to use it again.

This is an unfortunate situation where certain people feel entitled to use a celebrity’s name for their own purposes. We regret that the Lohan family is upset and hope this matter is put behind us quickly.

She bitches about how she is not treated like most people but at the same time complains because she is a VIP at Carvel with benefits like free ice cream? Life's rough! I bet this was the worst day of her life. Poor You!

The starlet's mom says, "It just shows how we get treated so much worse than regular people." Hmm, maybe if you didn't go around flashing your fancy Black Carvel Card and referring to the rest of us as "regular people" in the press, this wouldn't be happening?

Hee! But I have to agree with Dina Lohan on one point. I do believe she is an irregular person. As for this stupid Black Card, it appears they were getting treated far better than "regular people" as Lindsay and Ali were given these cards that allow them to receive $25 of free ice cream per week for the next 75 YEARS! And the card stipulates the celebrity MUST BE PRESENT when using their card (which seems like the entire point of issuing the cards...celebrity endorsements).

Celebrities (and their mothers) shouldn't have to pay for ice cream like "regular people".

This reminds me of that brilliant SNL video where Eddie Murphy goes undercover as a white man and finds out white people don't charge each other for goods and services if there are no black people to witness it.

It just continues to amaze me that celebs get perks like this. I mean, why not give a Black Card to a poor family. Wouldn't that be an idea?

I can't imagine many celebs can eat $25 worth of ice cream a week and expect to keep their shape film-ready.

Personally, I think he'd be selling out if he accepted this perk. Theater actors don't need perks. They toil for love.
