Posted: 10/29/13 at 9:32amI'm not sure about this. It's like the line about guns not killing people, people killing people.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 9:39amI disagree with The Chew. I'm opposed to it. Also, I disagree with the people on The Chew.

Disagree with the sock, not the puppet.
The man, not the myth.
The music, not the mirror.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 10:08amHow often does the "Moderator" make these kinds of appearances? Also, that philosophy sure sounds a lot like what the Russian troll would say... Hmm...

Posted: 10/29/13 at 10:23am`I want to know why they targeted that thread and no other thread that has been ruined in like the past 10 months or so.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 11:01amThat has to be the most bizarre moderator appearance ever- are we sure that is an official site representative? I've never seen a "Moderator" post before- only posts by moderators under their names. Perhaps our troll has donned a moderator costume?

And has the ability to lock threads? I can sign up as Moderator2 but that doesn't make me an actual Moderator.
Or does it?
I'm out of fake email addresses and this IP is already on file, so it's gotta be someone else.

I've seen it before. It usually reminds trolls that there is only one screen name allowed per user.

So, if I connected the dots.... "Moderator" = Sue
Right?

Posted: 10/29/13 at 11:30amShe wishes. I wonder who "the person" people were disagreeing with that made the thread be locked down? Either the horrible NH teacher or what's-her-nom, I would guess.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:03pmI didn't realize the thread was locked. hmmmmm. Sometimes I feel like this is all some grad student's thesis on human behavior.

I always find it amusing that the Moderator doesn't accept private messages.
Moderation here is a joke, but after the initial burst of people ignoring the trolls, threads have become unbearable watching people pretend they are ignoring the trolls whilst talking about and to the trolls.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:21pmI hope people realize that just because a troll responds by name to somebody who has blocked them and likes to make it look like a conversation, it's just a one-sided thing like in SPOILER ALERT The Sixth Sense.

I think that's largely a result of the way the ignore feature works--or, more accurately, doesn't work.
We can see that someone we ignore has responded, and if we reply to a thread, we even see what that person's post was. It would be easier to use the ignore feature if it actually made those posts invisible.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:23pmI'm talking about the people responding to trolls, though. I swear you know what gets more attention now than ever. I only catch the trolls' posts occasionally when I hit reply.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:32pmI only catch the Troll's posts when I hit repy and it had posted one in from the last. I don't hit reply when I see it was the last person who posted. My time on BWW has become a lot nicer.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:35pmThat's generally my MO, too. But it's annoying if I've been in a conversation to have to have a self-imposed "time out."

It was a strange appearance. I'm going to guess someone complained and that's why it was locked.
Although I must say it was a rather tame thread.

Posted: 10/29/13 at 12:40pmWith much spirited exchange of views. I wish Jessica Fletcher was here to tell us WHY this thread and why that is important to figure out WHO killed Abigail warren.
