re: Mission Space Ride Kills Second Victim

When my mom and I went to WDW, we decided to skip Mission: SPACE...good thing we did. I heard from somewhere that the ride actually spins you on your stomach, or something to that extent.

My sister got sick on that ride too and was spilling her guts like crazy when it was over.

Have a great time, JG2!

I rode Mission: Space in December. It was really intense (mom made full use of the barf bag in front of her!) and there were clusters of miserable-looking people at the exit sitting down and putting their head between their knees to wait out the nausea, but I had a good time. I was concerned by how many verbal and written reminders are placed in the loooooong waiting corridors listing all the health conditions that would not be best mixed with the ride. It was exciting, but if these deaths keep happening, I'm thinking that was my first and last time on it.

I loved this ride! It was intense to be sure, but I didn't think it was nearly as bad as all the hype surrounding it would lead you to believe. My mom felt pretty sick afterward, but the woman can't even ride a Tilt-a-Whirl.

I still have to go with Space Mountian as the best ride at Disney World. Or the Rock 'n Rollacoaster. re: Mission Space Ride Kills Second Victim

A few weeks ago, I went to Flordia for a week with about forty other kids and everyone went on that ride but no one was sick or died for that matter.

I liked the ride, but my friend and I were quite nauseated afterwards - we're both no spring chickens! I can tell you, green is not a good color on me.

re: Mission Space Ride Kills Second Victim

I actually liked this ride, I don't think you'd die unless you had previous conditions. It's like one of those saucer rides at the fair that spins you really fast so you stick to the walls, so if those make you sick don't go on this ride.

You'd think, though, that after two people in a year die on a ride maybe it's time to shut it down...

I liked it for the most part, but was nauseous and felt really bizarre and tired for hours afterward.

re: Mission Space Ride Kills Second Victim

Huh... just rode the ride two weeks ago. I thought it was pretty bad ass. It was intense but man it was cool. I had a headache/dizziness afterward.

The warnings freaked me out though. I kept getting more nervous as I was getting closer to the ride. "If you look to the left you vomit, if you look to the right, you vomit. If you close your eyes, you die." But there was an Australian single rider that rode with us and he was really nice to me. He asked me if I was alright as we got on the ride... and his accent made me feel all better.

All in all, I wanted to go on it again. It was way better than Test Track, but not as cool as Soarin'.

Whoever said Rockin Rollercoaster rocks, I definitley agree with you. It was my first rollercoaster, and it owned.

I did not really like that ride (Im not really a big fan of simulators.)I loved Soarin though.

"I mean how did that person die? It was a child, right?"

I think it had something to do with his heart, but I'm pretty sure he had previous conditions they didn't know about.

I still haven't forgiven WDW. They tore down Horizons to build Mission: Space.

How dare they.

Despite the fact that I love thrill rides, and despite the fact that many people have loved it, I don't think I'll ever be riding it.

I loved mr. toads wild ride, and the one at Disneyland is different and not as good for some reason. I never got to go on Alien Encounter, but I went on that new stich ride... it sucked.

re: Mission Space Ride Kills Second Victim

I have to say though - I'm surprised no one had a heart attack on alien encounter ever. That thing scared the hell out of me when I was younger - I wouldn't go back on it now if you paid me.

Any other ride in any of the other parks - no problem.

Well, I won't be going on It's A Small World any time soon either...
