I'm a bit confused by what you mean, Cruel, but I'll give it a shot. I'm probably way off.
I always identify more with boys in films rather than girls. I will often go to a film and, if the main character is a boy, I'll ride the rollercoaster with that character, whereas if it's a girl, I'll almost lose interest completely.
Was I on target there?

shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Posted: 3/28/07 at 7:23pmCan you give us an example or something to go off of? I agree with vm - definetly can identify with male roles in film, but then again I don't know how much of that is because there are usually more male protagonists than females

Posted: 3/28/07 at 7:23pmI suppose I'd have to pick one in order to identify with it, and I'm just not ready to do that yet.

Actually - we need clarification on the question. Once again, CS's discuss has left us without much guidance. While some feel it is a film related question, I seem to think it may be a "I am thinking of losing my winkie" sort of question. Which is it Cruel?
And for the record - I identify with Rathnaits gender. That is why I am still single.

Rath relating with someone humorous would be like CS relating with the high school prom queen. ie, Structually possible within the context of a well made film, but factually incorrect and inspired by more than just a little self delusion.

but dont you know that enjoying putting on high heels and dancing to showtunes can make you an actor?
if this thread is more about the question of going on way or the other regarding gender, I'll keep my vj, thanks

I'm basically asking if you identify with what society says your gender should be.
If that is the case, then I am neither male nor female, though I lean more towards female. I tend to empathize with women more and somehow feel like I am one of them...
In fact, a few years ago, I actually felt twinges of jealousy for not being able to have a period...

Husk, I love you.
As for me... hm, my friends are mostly guys (gay guys, if that means anything) but I'm pretty girly when I think about it. I'm also a pretty head strong feminist though and certainly refuse to conform to society's stereotypical image of women.
Really, I conform to society's stereotypical image of a gay man, except I'm not.
It's too early for this...

Posted: 3/29/07 at 7:49amI'm a girl and I definitely identify more with women than men. My favorite books (Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Anne of Green Gables, etc.) are all pretty girly, but I like action movies, which of course are stereotypically male. I have more girlfriends than guy friends, but I am attracted to guys. Hmmm, I think everyone has a little yin and yang in them really.
