Once, while I was waiting to go on stage with some friends, I simply peed my pants. I didn't have to go, and I didn't feel too nervous, I just peed! I looked at my friends, and said "Guys? I just peed my pants." Their faces were priceless! About two seconds later, we went on. I changed my choreography a tiny bit (to avert eyes from any, um, well, you know) and we got through OK, but it was still one of the funniest moments ever for my friends and I. They are never going to let me live it down.
What stupid/funny stuff have you done to embarass yourself before a show?

I had to perform two monologues on the mainstage for my class's mock audition and I had to pee the entire time and the professor said it was the best I ever did them.
And before auditions or performances I can usually be found jumping up and down and doing cartwheels...that's the weirdest thing I can think of but I think everyone does something like that...
I get very chatty too..more so than usual.

I jump up and down and wiggle a lot.
Mainly because my heart rate usually slows down before I go on for some reason.

Posted: 5/31/07 at 9:30pmI get so tense and nervouse before auditions, once i decided to try to relax by doing yoga in the hall. This worked fine until my jazz shoes slipped on the tiles and i knocked over the stage managers' table! They were my friends, though, so they just laughed. They still make fun of me for it, though.

I eat. And eat, and eat and eat. The last show I did, I downed a bag of baby carrots and a cucumber in about a half hour. I bought healthy food so I wouldn't kill my throat. But, that's what I do. A guy I know takes his script, goes someplace private, paces, and goes over lines. He doesn't use the script usually, but he has it.
A fellow cast member in a show peed her pants as well. It was because she was laughing so hard backstage though. Then later that night, she had to pee again, and we were on the wrong side of the stage, so she couldn't go to the bathroom. She peed outside, but it got all over her shoes. Hilarous!

Posted: 6/9/07 at 8:58pmI usually have to walk all over the stage before a show starts or i can't go on. It's really annoying but I just pace really quickly through the whole thing and sometimes I'll sit down on the floor smack down in the middle and stay there until they call places.

I tend to dance alot before i go onstage. Not dance like choreographed dance i go to class for. No, more like jumping up and down shaking my hands and spinning around and shooting out the occasional "I'M SO F**KING NERVOUS!"
I also find myself doing the "Kristin Chenoweth" (as I call it) very often. That is, randomly singing out a very high and vibrato-y note when ever a fresh batch of nerves hits me. It's weird, the anticipation for the show makes me do these crazy things, but once I'm up on stage all the nerves are GONE.

Posted: 6/10/07 at 1:42amDEFYxGRAViTY721 i do the same exact "Kristen Chenoweth" thing.. just to be funny.. it obviously doesn't sound as amazing as Kristen Chenoweth, but hey who in this world sounds like her? haha. To all those who have peed before going onstage or had to pee did you know that it is good luck if you have to pee before a performance? It's true. :)
