Last Friday I watched Doctor Who on the Sci- Fi Channel for the first time and I really liked it!! The writing is pretty interesting(and funny) and I like the actors who are playing the characters. I'm wondering what anyone else thinks about this show.

Oh, and just a small story to tell. Today I was looking inside the Sci-Fi magazine and I find out (a huge secret) about what happens during the show *well, for all of you HUGE Doctor Who fans out there, you know what I mean.* I am so pissed at myself for even looking, but I don't care. I'll try to forget about it!!

It's actually a pretty good show. However the episodes that Sci-Fi is airing as new are actually last season from the BBC..

I watched it, too, and found Christopher Eccleston quite good in the role. He's got the right blend of manic humor and edginess. In my opinion, the best since Tom Baker in the '70's. The production values have certainly improved, but it still has its hallmark cheesiness, which I'd actually miss if it got too good!

I absolutely agree! Eccleston is a worthy successor to TOm Baker - and I never thought anyone could be. With this actor in the role, I'm in danger of getting hooked again.

If I remeber correctly he was only with the show for that season and there is already a new actor playing the role on the new episodes on the BBC.

Yep. David Tennant, and he is also fantastic. The BBC is going to start their 2nd season in April.

I'm not a Doctor Who fan, but there was a Christmas special over here with David Tennant who was pretty good. Wait until you get the beautiful John Barrowman showing up in a couple of later episodes looking hot in his uniform. I suddenly became a Doctor Who fan.

Sorry for resurrecting an age-old thread, but though people might be interested to know that the DVD of the second series of Doctor Who (currently showing on the Sci Fi channel) will be out in the US on the 16th January 07. If you can't wait til then, the UK Region 2 release is available on the 20th November from amazon.co.uk

what about Torchwood? did John Barrowman finally show of his "posterior" as he promised on the UK's 5 o'clock show? I'm assuming he has not since I've yet to come across any pictures...

I JUST got the first disc of the first season from Netflix - and LOVED it. The second disc is waiting upstairs - I just sort of randomly happened into it, and I'm glad I do. What could be better than Charles Dickens saying "What the Shakespeare is going on here?"

OK, so I'm an English teacher geek, but that slayed me.
