When I was young, I remember one of our priests being taken to task for his sermons being to intellectually out-of-reach to the general congregation. His response was, "I don't aim my sermons to where their heads are, but rather to where they ought to be." Besides which, you may (or may not) be underestimating the readership here.

DGrant - I love that anectode about your priest - I believe he was right - speak to people as though they've reached the level they SHOULD be at and maybe eventually they'll get it...
