Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

It's this thing where people send in their secrets on a postcard, and they post them on their website every Sunday. They can be very inspiring.

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

I love PostSecret. We just got a new compilation book of them at Urban, and I'm really tempted to buy it.

I think the better question is who DOESN'T read Post Secret

I'd never heard about it before know. But it's fascinating.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

I read it every week. I'm addicted. I live for Saturday nights!

But what's up with the murder confession? Do you think the man/woman is real?

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

I've been reading them every Sunday for a while now - ever since the site was first mentioned in the New York Times. At first they were just interesting and occasionally funny, but more and more often I'm finding many that touch me, inspire me, and sometimes describe me.

There was one this week though that was just chilling.
(ETA - that was just posted above me.)

That one is facinating.

The eeriest one said something like 'Everyone who knew me before 9-11, thinks I'm dead.'

I dunno if thats true. I always wonder if some of them are made up.

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

tag, that's the first postcard i saw when i started going there

i love this website, but sometimes i dont think some of the things are real. like when someone makes a postcard directed at one person and that one person sends in a responce to it... it just seems to fairytail-esque to be real.
like i can see some guy sitting at his computer answering all of them himself.

i have one of the books (the first one) i still need to get 2 and 3.

i've always wanted them to come do a show near me but they never have.

I LOVE PostSecret. I've always wanted to send one in, but I'm afraid that I don't have anything interesting to say!

Tag, I remember that one! I spent a lot of time considering the story behind that secret. It's really fascinating.

The creator is from my area and I went to a talk/signing last month. It was really interesting to hear some of the "secrets" behind PostSecrets. He said the most common secret he receives is "I pee in the shower." Gross, but hardly comparable to some of the soulbaring fare that's usually posted.

that secret makes me wonder how many other "dead" people are living a new life right now.

I think it's a great site with some good heart.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

There are times when Frank, the webmaster, will respond to secrets and that I understand. I still don't understand how a secret published on Sunday will have an email response posted underneath it on that same Sunday when I'm reading it. How does that work? Some of the email responses are as beautiful as the secrets themselves, but I'd still like to know who's seeing them ahead of time and having replies posted alongside. I'd just like to know the process.

I don't think it's that "one person". I just think it's something they relate to so much that it *could* be about them. It's more wistful thinking that actually believing it's about you.

re: Does anyone else read PostSecrets?

oh i guess it could be that.

i dont even know how they email responces. i saw a postcard opnce that i wanted to respond to (it said "i am afaid i will lie in my grave wondering if i had spent my living days well" which is a modified line form my favorite song... i was going to respond with "would you not like to be sitting on top of the world?") but i didn't see any contact info on the website.
