Has anyone noticed that there is no baby picture here of DollyPop? That's because cameras hadn't been invented yet. There is no way to scan a stone carving.

The fact of the matter is that there are no baby pictures of me. The apartment house my family lived in during my early years burned down in 1954. All our old photographs went up in flames.

I am sorry about the fire DollyPop. Where was the apartment? My first apartment was on Maple Avenue in Patchogue. My parents moved there in 1955.

The apartment was in Brooklyn. It burned when the lumber yeard nextdoor caught fire.
