Posted: 10/13/08 at 4:09pmGuess it just took a little longer than originally anticipated for the rich to get richer and make back most of their money... at the taxpayer's expense, of course.

Posted: 10/13/08 at 4:19pmThe market is so unstable now. It's like the Tilt-a-Whirl at the carnival. Except I'm not having fun.

Best
According to Luscious, everyone in the stock market is uber rich. I did not know you fell into that category. Let us continue to play the class warfare card. I hate to break the news to Luscious that many more average americans are in the market & were hurt by its fall. Why let facts get in the way, Luscious.

Posted: 10/13/08 at 5:53pmI believe it is more of a bounce from all the World's banks throwing money at their markets to make sure they don't collapse. It might very well swing back the other way tomorrow or Wednesday.

Luscious, remind me to tell that to friends of my mom whose 401K plans and investments were so low that they were considering either deferring retirement or going back to work.
With the end of company-sponsored pensions, and the push to deferred comp and 401k plans, many people's retirement is pegged to the stock market.
But I guess those folks are the wealthy as well. Remind me to tell that to my mom's friends who are thinking of applying for jobs in their 70's.

Oh Papa, they are a bunch of older Jewish women, who all love Obama. They will be fine.
They are far more afraid of what Palin would do to them if given the chance.

Only with a cross in her hand and some holy water.
Then again, perhaps my mom's friends would be accused of being witches by her pastor, and then it would be on.

Posted: 10/13/08 at 8:45pmThe reality is it went up being a lot of people bought low. This is the exact same thing that happened two weeks ago. It'll go down again when everyone who bought today sees the potential for a short-term profit and starts selling off again quickly.

Well, luscious, I guess you were RIGHT: The economic crisis is OVER!
You're so SMART! You knew it before ANY of us! Before anyone in the country! Before anyone in the WORLD! THE CRISIS IS OVER because LUSCIOUS says so!

PJ… bite me … hard! You really should go and join McCain's team, because all you're really good at is manipulating and twisting people's words, misrepresenting their points of view, inciting anger and instilling distrust. And Roxy and YWIW are missing my point entirely, but what else is new? My point being, it's the average, middle income individual, with only their 401Ks to fall back on, who have suffered the most and lost the most over the past couple of weeks, and will continue to do so in the future. The fat cats who play the market will have made back every dime, and then some, that they lost by the end of this week; and if not this week then next week or the week after that. Because they know how to play the game. And they know how to play the game because they invented the game, and the rest of us are all just their pawns. We're the ones who are going to pay the price for their greed and recklessness. No, PJ, the economic crises is far from over for the middle class. And even if the market had recovered everything it lost last week, as I wrongly predicted, the crises still wouldn't have been over for the average, middle income individual. I never said that it would, so please stop putting words in my mouth and misrepresenting my views and opinions. This whole Hillary thing has really turned you into a miserable c**t.

Posted: 10/13/08 at 11:37pmAnd what has it turned you into? A name-caller so base, all you can do is resort to the c-word, as befits your rarely concealed misogyny.

Posted: 10/13/08 at 11:46pmNo, my opinion of you has nothing to do with Hillary. Frankly, I always thought you were a gigantic c**t; as well as a know-it-all and a sore-loser. And not for nothing, but you're the biggest name-caller around here, and I have the quotes to prove it. So, GFY.

Why so bitter, Sweetness? Your candidate won the primary and will will the election--why are you still calling names?
You just make yourself look shriller.

I am glad Obama will win despite people like you.

I'm not the slightest bit bitter, Sugar. Sorry if I gave you that impression. I just don’t like having my words twisted to suit someone’s vengeful and bitchy agenda. And if I'm so shrill, misogynistic and ill-informed, why do you bother reading and responding to my every post?
And I would never be so presumptuous as to call the election. I've learned a long time ago to never underestimate the stupidity and ignorance of the American people. They vote based on fear. It just looks like this time the economy may have them more frightened than anything the Republicans have managed to conjure up; at least so

Wow - take it however you want.
I have tried, generally to be civil to you, except for the one post where I misinterpreted you calling me (when you where referrign to Taz) an Israeli hacker. Otherwise, you are an amusing, harmless piece of drivel.
If I have brightened you day, then all the better for it.
