I watched this movie for the first time a week ago and thought it was pretty funny. Since watching it in its entirety, I have gone back and watched a few scenes which seemed to grow on me, and now I am a little bit obsessed with the movie.
It's interesting to see today's famous actresses 10 years ago. Denise Richards, Brittany Murphy and even Amy Adams (I didn't even recognize her)!!
Anyone else love this movie? Hate it?

I love that movie.
It's very funny and cracks me up
So many wonderful performances: An early role for Amy Adams, Brittany Murphy and Kristen Dunst and Denise Richards.
So many funny lines in that movie.

One of my favorites! I pretty much have the whole movie memorized and always seem to find situations where I want to quote it.
Literally the first time I laughed so hard at a movie that I fell off of my couch. "You're just to good to be true..."

I was crowned Mount Rose American Teen Princess in 1945. We were fighting the Japs. Didn't even get to keep my damn tiara. Had to turn it in for scrap!
I know what some of your big-city, no-bra-wearin', hairy-legged women's libbers might say.
I don't eat shellfish. Mom always says, "Don't ever eat nothin' that can carry its house around with it. Who knows the last time it's been cleaned." She should know.

Posted: 3/29/08 at 3:44pmI absolutely love this movie. The first time I saw it (in theatres), I fell off my chair. I feel obligated to sit and watch it whenever it's on TV.

Great movie!
"Oh no, my mom never kept a secret of the fact my dad chose his career over us. What was it she used to say? Once a carnie, always a carnie. Mom still cries every time she sees a tilt-a-whirl or a fat lady in a tube top."

What a coincidence! I just borrowed this from a friend and watched it on Thursday!
Ellen Barkin and Allison Janney are my favorites (Amber's mother and the mother's best friend).
And Allison Janney definitely has my favorite lines.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Like when all the girls are vomiting off the balconies of the hotel, she walks out of her room with a man and says, "do you think they heard us?" Or when she gets on the news and proudly announces "I got some!" Or when Amber tells her mother that they'll be following the ambulance in the hearse, and she says "Don't let that scare you." HILARIOUS.

I had no idea that was Amy Adams until now. I love the movie, but I never made the connection.
I think the best part is the first 15 minutes, when they're introducing all the contestants. The Asian American girl is so wrong.

"So what was the theme of last year's pagent?"
"Oh, that was Buy American!"
"And the year before that?"
"USA is A-OK!"
"And can you remember the theme of your favorite pagent?"
"Can I?? Ameri-I-Can! People ask me where I get this. It's just a gift from God or somethin', I don't know."
"They're never gonna let you perform naked, I asked."

I adore this movie.
"He sells reproductions! His furniture's as fake as my orgasms!"
"Yeah, well, if they ask you to take your top off, get the money first."
"What, did they have a sale on dull needles at K-Mart?"
"I just need one more do-over!"

I just may pop this in for an afternoon viewing.
I love when the drama girl does her one-woman "Soylent Green" performance.
"Scene!"
