The people who want to watch Duck Dynasty have no interest in musicals. And the people who want to watch musicals have no interest in Duck Dynasty.
What fools thought this was a good idea?

That was a long ass article but an interesting read. I have to admit I had no idea this even existed until the thread about it closing went up. I watched the clip and was shocked to hear how legitimate the song sounded. I never thought (or cared enough) to look up who was behind it.
I'm not interested in hearing anymore from scolds who talk about tolerance being a two way street because it always seems to be about tolerating intolerance on that second side of the street. And I think I would have just rolled the biggest queen eye rolls I have ever queen eye rolled if somebody walked in and made a big deal about being in his first gay apartment. I'd be like, you can leave.
Thanks for the link, though. I'd personally be more interested in a musical version of Dynasty starring ducks. You know, Blake and Alexis Quackington...

It was so close to being on Broadway that it would've been the BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY's kind of legend, a musical that did exist but shut down after previews. I love crazy theater legends like that.

Serves them right! It was a horrible idea and the duck dynasty family is full of hate. Those actors and directors should be ashamed of themselves.

Yet another fresh, original musical that couldn't make it because of the glut of revivals and crappy adaptations of 25 year old mediocre movies. It sickens me and I think this will be the end of musical theater as we know it. Damn tourists with their plebian tastes.

Full disclosure: I didn't hate that song. And I'd totally see this. And I'm gay. I'm not proud of it. But I'm intrigued after that song. It's catchy and stupid and fun. Which is what this show should be.

I have a real soft spot for musicals that aren't commerically successful--especially ones adapted from really bizarre/controversial subject material--and more often than not, I think it is these musicals that usually deserve to succeed and be heard. But I'm intrigued: what the hell were they thinking? The song in that clip is horrendous. Everything--the camo, the homophobia, Vegas...what would make them think this would work? (Sidenote: have there any been any commercially successful musicals that have tried out in Vegas? I'm legitimately curious).
Did anyone see this? I'm really intrigued. For the record, I never have seen, and probably never will see, Duck Dynasty.
