Wildcat has given correct answers, but appears to have been confused by the incorrect information offered in response.
The song "Easter Parade" was first performed on film in the 1938 musical "Alexander's Ragtime Band," and not "Holiday Inn" which was released in 1942.
By the way, the refrain of "Easter Parade" was as song written in 1917 ("Smile And Show Your Dimple") and recorded by Sam Ash.
And the first recording of "Easter Parade" to achieve wide popularity was the vocal by Clifton Webb, who originally sang it on Broadway in AS THOUSANDS CHEER in a duet with Marilyn Miller.

THANKS for the update, Jose'!
I didn't quite catch "Easter Parade" in the flick ALEXANDER'S RAGTIME BAND--who performed it?
And that info about the one and only Clifton Webb making a recording of "Easter Parade" is WAY COOL--do you know if its still available?

Don Ameche performed "Easter Parade" in "ARB."
Anyone who is anyone and a true afficionado of musical theatre owns a recording of Clifton Webb's original Broadway recording of "Easter Parade."
M_E, as Irving also said in the film "Easter Parade," better luck next time.
Now, what is the name of the character that performs "Better Luck Next Time" in the film?
Ooooh...
"Easter Parade" was performed in ALEXANDER'S RAGTIME BAND by Don Ameche (who, by eerie coincidence, played opposite Alice Faye in the revival of GOOD NEWS that I saw!).
SORRY for the confusion, folks--I guess "Everybody Has the Right To Be Wrong." (Sammy Cahn, SKYSCRAPER).

You got, Wildcat!
Hannah Brown (Judy Garland) introduced this song written especially for the 1948 film.
Jose'--
Re: Clifton Webb's recording of "Easter Parade", I consider myself a fan of Musical Theatre but I DON'T own it--so do you know if its still in print?
Any information on that would be MOST appreciated...
Please PM me if you think that would be more prudent... ;-

Next question:
Name at least 4 films which co-starred Don Ameche and Alice Faye.
p.s. None of which have "Easter" in the title.
