I didn't know if she ever appeared on B'way, so I posted this here. I had no idea she was this old! RIP

Eileen Brennan created the role of Irene Molloy in the original production of HELLO, DOLLY!

She also starred in the original production of LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE.
Carlos you beat me to it. Little Mary Sunshine was an off-Broadway show but it was a megahit and Brennan was the star.

She was never afraid of a fate worse than death. Death was enough.
RIP.
She was so versatile and talented. Equally adept at both comedy and drama. Some of my favorite performances:
Private Benjamin
The Last Picture Show
Murder by Death
At Long Last Love
Clue
The Cheap Detective
The Sting
....and her guest starring role on Will & Grace as Jack McFarland's wacked out drama teacher Zandra.

A great shining goddess -- one of the real greats. I'll always treasure her in MURDER BY DEATH. Always.
RIP.
I loved her.
Carlos, I love every one of those movies you listed.
And of course she was Oscar nominated for Private Benjamin.
Well said, Roscoe.
Here's one of my favorite moments, from "The Cheap Detective."

She's got this scene in CHEAP DETECTIVE with Peter Falk where they both scale mad heights of film noir absurdity, it is one of the funniest things in movies. And in MURDER BY DEATH -- her revelation about Falk's private life is pure delight.
Their chemistry together was pure golden magic, and I wish they'd worked together more.
A genuinely unique talent and a great example of later-life success.

She was very funny in 'Clue'. She made me laugh every time I watched that film. R.I.P.

So versatile. So talented. One of those performers whose IMDb page is like a condensed survey of my personal television & film highlights.
Rest in Peace.
One of those actresses who could get a laugh so effortlessly, it felt like magic. I even remember a great throwaway bit from WILL & GRACE where she simply bumped into something that was in her way and it was so damned funny.
