let's look at some of these races that are supposedly going to the democrats (based on the majority watch which uses mostly the rt strategies #'s):
az-08: voted 60-36 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-46 for bush
fl-13: voted 55-45 republican in the house race in 2004 and 56-43 for bush
oh-15: voted 60-40 republican in the house race in 2004 and 50-50 for president (which suggests that national elections bring out more democrats than the mid-terms, turnout's key. if the gop turns out we win.)
oh-18: voted 66-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 57-43 for bush
nc-08: voted 66-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 54-46 for bush
ny-20: voted 60-36 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-46 for bush
ny-24: voted 57-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-47 for bush
ny-29: voted 51-41 republican in the house race in 2004 (with scandals galore in that campaign) and 56-42 for bush
pa-10: incumbent ran unopposed in 2004 and bush carried district 60-40
wi-08: voted 70-30 republican in the house race in 2004, and 55-44 for bush
this is based on majority watch which is predicting a democratic majority of
218 222. if even half of these districts vote as they have in the past, that knocks the dem # down to
213 217 and hands the majority back to the gop. of course voters would never do something like vote the way they always have. not when there's been a tectonic shift in politics, right?
oh and pj, you really are scared, aren't you? wow, i was just kidding, but hmmmm...
*updated* note the deleted #'s which had to be updated after i realized i read it wrong, but it still doesn't change the outcome.
