A "2:1 cash advantage"...how sad.
Once the GOP ran on "making the world safe"--but you f*cked that up.
Once the GOP ran on "values"--but you f*cked that up.
Once the GOP ran on "standing up for America"--but you trampled on the Constitution.
Now all you've got is a "2:1 cash advantage."
More proof of the moral bankruptcy of the Republican Party.

I agree--sad that you can't win because of what was accomplished in the last two years, papa. Sadder that any intelligent person would be content with that.
And your dismissal of voter fraud is an ever weakening charge as the rest of the country has been voicing doubts about their confidence of electronic voting machines more and more. Let's do remember that the exit polls were only off in the Diebold run swing states. Let's do remember that those machines can easily be tampered with.
Ultimately, your party either won fair and square or got away with it "fair and square". All I ask is that the elections be fair and square.
If SOMEHOW Americans stupidly keep Congress GOP-run, then congrats. But I pray that the horrible job your party has done is not rewarded by two more years. And, I pray that if SOMEHOW given that reward, your party gets it's muthaf***ing act together and does right by its people.

let's look at some of these races that are supposedly going to the democrats (based on the majority watch which uses mostly the rt strategies #'s):
az-08: voted 60-36 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-46 for bush
fl-13: voted 55-45 republican in the house race in 2004 and 56-43 for bush
oh-15: voted 60-40 republican in the house race in 2004 and 50-50 for president (which suggests that national elections bring out more democrats than the mid-terms, turnout's key. if the gop turns out we win.)
oh-18: voted 66-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 57-43 for bush
nc-08: voted 66-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 54-46 for bush
ny-20: voted 60-36 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-46 for bush
ny-24: voted 57-34 republican in the house race in 2004 and 53-47 for bush
ny-29: voted 51-41 republican in the house race in 2004 (with scandals galore in that campaign) and 56-42 for bush
pa-10: incumbent ran unopposed in 2004 and bush carried district 60-40
wi-08: voted 70-30 republican in the house race in 2004, and 55-44 for bush
this is based on majority watch which is predicting a democratic majority of 218 222. if even half of these districts vote as they have in the past, that knocks the dem # down to 213 217 and hands the majority back to the gop. of course voters would never do something like vote the way they always have. not when there's been a tectonic shift in politics, right?
oh and pj, you really are scared, aren't you? wow, i was just kidding, but hmmmm...

I don't do Xanax, but Republicans all over are realizing you're going to need something considerably stronger than Xanax when you wake up on Wednesday the 8th.

Republican officials now concede they could lose a net of 23 to 27 seats in the House, that higher figure being close to twice the 15 Democrats would need to take control. Democrats would need six seats to take control of the Senate, and Republican officials tell TIME they see several scenarios for warding that off. Here's what your Republican 2:1 cash advantage is paying for: racist ads that call black women HO's and try to scare African-Americans men into voting Republican (HA!):
A REAL REPUBLICAN RADIO AD:
"If you make a little mistake with one of your ‘hos,' you'll want to dispose of that problem tout suite, no questions asked," one of the men says.
"That's too cold. I don't snuff my own seed," the other replies.
"Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican," the first man says.
"Black babies are terminated at triple the rate of white babies," a female announcer in one of the ads says, as rain, thunder, and a crying infant are heard in the background. "The Democratic Party supports these abortion laws that are decimating our people, but the individual's right to life is protected in the Republican platform. Democrats say they want our vote.Why don't they want our lives?"

Posted: 10/19/06 at 2:25pmsee, that's where people get me wrong. i very rarely defend anybody. occasionally i do point out hypocrisy (even acknowledging it often). in this thread, i'm merely pointing out reasons why the conventional wisdom (that the democrats will wipe the floor with the gop and leave them gasping for breath down 15-20 seats in the house) might be slightly flawed.
