reading comprehension classses, i'm sure they offer them wherever you are.
the first instance, puts both parties in the position of having the potential to suffer based on the outcome.
the second instance is merely a statement of hope in the face of outrageous (*wink*) odds.
trust me, you'll know it if i start gloating.
"linguistically limited liverpudlian"
That's now my favorite phrase ever typed on this board.
Liverpool--this is Papa sneering, not gloating.
Gloating is what he did after the last election when he posted the infamous Crying Baby picture and laughed at and made fun of his friends who were deeply disturbed by the election results.
THAT was gloating. This is smiply sneering, which happens to be his usual mode of communication.
FYI...the infamous Crying Baby picture.
HEY YOU *******S!!

got your attention? good.
well, this is probably the last thing you'd be expecting from me, and i have to admit that it's surprising me a little too. so, without further ado...
shut up.
both sides, shut up and take a f***ing breath.
to my friends on the left, you're letting yourselves get bent out of shape over rodney? rodney? please. and mimi and whatever this new westy is? that's like haranguing a piece of s*** because it's brown and stinks. i know they're vile and all that, but please, are they worth it?
to the those of you who i like on the right (and it's disturbingly few) after all this time did you think that the people who fought tooth and nail against the possibility of gw getting re-elected were just going to go away? duh, this election was monumental and while i disagree that the results will be as detrimental to both the country and so many of its people (especially a specific minority who hold a majority status here) as they believe, to just act like it's business as usual is callous and stupid. grow up.
to those a**holes who've come out of the woodwork to spew hatred, so you've been getting beat up on for a while because of your views. so what. deal with it. you've chosen to place yourself in an online community where for possibly the only times in your lives you are in fact the minority. this is what it feels like to see no one around you who shares your views. not a lot of fun, huh? you've chosen to be here. you made a choice to make yourself a minority. that's more than a f*** of a lot of the people upon whom you're spewing your bile have done. if you can't see how important this election was to so many people then you're too stupid to breathe. if you do see it and continue to squeal like little piggies at every single post that comes up which validates the sentiment that's been on display here for months, then you're beneath contempt. i like that phrase, beneath contempt.
people are scared. they have some justification for that fear, i will certainly allow. i don't think things will come to pass in the apocalyptic manner in which some of them prophecy. but if you can't see that or refuse to make allowances for that fear or worse deliberately prey upon that fear...what kind of person are you?
deal with the fact that there's anger and fear and that we, we, have to work through that to prove that the fear is while not unfounded, at least doesn't have the support necessary to achieve the goals attributed to it. we have to work together. people don't trust each other and so there has to be ways to find little bridges but it's not gonna happen the day after the election, or the week after the election or the month after the election. it's gonna be slow but it has to happen. we have to find ways to work together again, or we'll allow the idea of america to vanish.
now i've taken more s*** on this board than most any of you and for decidedly longer than most any of you who are among the wild eyed new conservatives. i was here before there was a f***ing off-topic board. i'll be here long after most of you useless attention whores have left. and i have a message for you:
quit trying to f*** up my board.
take a breath, folks. seriously.
gloating at its finest, huh?
and if you're going to use the crying baby recall that the one you so often refer to was indeed the second of two posted that day.
two weeks after the election...
How would I know? You know I never read your posts.
another lie in the paljoey canon of continuous untruths. you even commented on reading that first post when jrb re-posted it. in fact, you took the time to try to demean me even when i was playing peacemaker. what's it like living with such hatred?
yes, papa. you did indeed post that comforting message. and then less than a week later, you gloated and mocked like a fiend, completely discounting that post.
Thank you, jrby.
He speaks of peace who never gave an inch.
then less than a week later
wrong, jerby. it was two weeks later. two weeks after listening to every tin foil helmeted screed it was possible to post. check the dates.
God man--don't you get exhausted always being "right"?
Would it be so hard for you to say, "I was wrong--I'm sorry"?
Would yourpride be so hurt? Would your manhood so affronted? Would your dick shrivel? Would it kill you to say "I was wrong to post the crying baby. I'm sorry. I was wrong to belittle the anger of my liberal friends. I'm sorry. I was wrong to back George Bush's lies about going to war. I'm sorry. I was wrong to defend the manner in which George Bush and Donald Rumsefeld conducted the war. I'm sorry. I was wrong to support so many dishonest Republican member of Congress. I'm sorry."
No--because in your small-minded worldview, you always have to be "right."
whatever the time frame (i can't check it now), I distinctly recall thinking, 'well that didn't last long'. it was clear that you didn't mean what you said and that you felt that we had a time limit on how long we could be justifiably upset. after that time, it was obvious that anything less than a parade for your beloved Bush was deserving of massive gloating and mocking and dismissal.
and the irony is that we were right about Bush--from Iraq to Katrina. and the country has finally realized this. but too late. we tried to tell you.
why would i say that when i'm right? poor, pj. gosh, i almost hope the gop loses for your sake.
Listen to jrby--he is speaking the truth about you.
Listen and learn about yourself. If you can.
oooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm.
oooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm.
oooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm.
yer right, i just had a vision.
it was you, weeping and begging forgiveness from the world for being such a putz.
Next lesson: How to make a SINCERE expression of contrition.
see, i'm not sorry. mostly because i'm not guilty of the litany of crimes of which i am routinely charged by you. nor do i much care how many times you lie about me and try to make believe its true. see, pj, you're not the conscience of bww, or the heart or the liver or the spleen or the big toe or even the toejam between the third and forth toe on the left foot. you're just a poster. despite your delusions of grandeur, you're just a poster and your opinion is worth nothing more than anybody else's. you can carry on until your fingertips bleed, but the horrible trangressions for which i must apologize exist in your own warped little mind and there they'll stay.

This board might implode on November if the libs don't win it all big time!
November 1

Unless the John Kerry flub screws it all up! :P

Projected New Senate: 50 Democrats 49 Republicans 1 tie
Projected New House: 239 Democrats 196 Republicans
The site lists other predictor sites' predictions.
We shall see.
There was a new average this morning:
51D-49R Senate 239D-195R (1tie) house
I really can't imagine the house going that far to the Dems though.
Here are those "other predictors" ETA: I tried to space all of this out, but it won't format.
