re: Ellen on Sally Kern

Just saw this on Perez. I love Ellen. She's hilarious.

I think she should have shown Kern's phone # and e-mail on the screen to facilitate her viewers contacting her.

Good for her - as time goes on she is getting more and more political. It's about time.

She essentially said nothing.

Yeah, good for her.

You can tell Ellen's pissed off.

She might not be saying anything, but she has a huge fan base who obviously love her.

That's a good thing.

Yeah, good for her.

But she brought it up. And that's pretty great in it of itself, especially considering she usually strives NOT to get political (for understandable reasons).

Trust me, she may not have technically said much. But the looks she was giving while listening to the audio, and the fact that she called Sally Kern on air? She said a lot.

re: Ellen on Sally Kern

I thought Ellen did a perfect thing. She got the issue out there with humor and grace. That's exactly how to win her audience over to our side of this issue--those people who might watch her show but agree a little more with Kern than we would like.

And then when folks watch that video online, it makes it awfully hard to match Kern's comments with Ellen's humor and grace.
