Ellen's Emotional Plea — Page 12

It is very hard on the dog and I get that. I feel very sorry for the dog in this situation, however it goes back to Ellen. SHE is the one that put the dog and the family and the Rescue into that situation.
It's very simple.
The Rescue doesn't allow dogs into homes with children. Stupid rule? Perhaps - but if she felt that way she should have gone to a different rescue.

They signed nothing.

All of the work that a sales person would do on a ‘normal’ person flys right out the door.
The sales people get stupid, and tounge-tied.
If the basis of your case is “She should have read the contract before she signed”… Then maybe you should focus on the people that were working at the ‘shelter’ and ask them why they didn’t ask her to read the paperwork before she signed it. I KNOW they just shoved it in front of her.
Ellen wasn’t signing a contract for her show, she wanted to adopt a dog.

Again...I don't care of it's Ellen or some random stranger.
The fact that it is a celebrity means she should have been all the more careful about signing her name on a contract. She was entering in an agreement with a company. At the very least she should have had people to read every last line of that contract (or any contract) before she agrees to it.
The fact that people act like idiots and could potentially "forget to mention key details" is all the more reason that Ellen should have been more diligent in protecting herself.
Look, I don't hate Ellen at all. In fact, she seems like a lovely person who just made a stupid mistake. That said she should have to live with the consequences of her mistake.
The fact that the Rescue is being so anal about the rules and removing the dog and being resistant to the pressure leads me to believe they probably didn't do the star struck forget to mention the details thing. It seems to be a pretty big sticking point for them.
Do we know if this company has any other celebrity clients?

What is your point?
Do you just hate anything about animal adoption or is it just Ellen?
Why be proud of posting a link to some no-body who says this about animals...
"Animals, as well we all know, are crap. Noisy, hairy ****ting machines who only live to drag the corpses of other animals into your house, the lot of them. And yet celebrities love their animals."
Is it that you hate animals? Or just celebrities?
I hate neither. But I also don't believe in thinking a celebrity is right just because she is a celebrity. As I've said about 650 times, I have nothing against Ellen. I just think she's in the wrong here. (Incidentally, it's a shame you've reached the age you have and can't discern satire when you read it.)
And, since no one seems to be able to understand that rescues have their own rules and regulations about who they will allow to take a dog, I'll repeat myself. And again, it's not shelter. The words aren't interchangeable.
Ellen wasn't equipped to handle the dog, and she wasn't equipped to deal with the repercussions, either. Why should the rescue assume she's equipped to find a proper owner for it?
If the basis of your case is “She should have read the contract before she signed”… Then maybe you should focus on the people that were working at the ‘shelter’ and ask them why they didn’t ask her to read the paperwork before she signed it. I KNOW they just shoved it in front of her.
Christ, do you have any sense of personal responsibility? If someone shoves something in front of my face to sign, I read it. This discussion amazes me if for nothing more than the fact that only five people in this country seem to think they should read things before they put their signature on it.
As for the tiresome (though probably inevitable, considering) mention of illegal aliens, Rhonda and I both would like to add a "WTF?"

Martina thinks your plight is funny.
And who cares about Portia? She's not even half as famous as Ellen.

It's possible. One of them reminded me of Lauryn Hill.

What do you think about Greenland's Horticulture? (yet another example of something that is a much of a correlation to the original topic of this thread as illegal aliens were)

People is crazy, right Beatriz?
