Do they work? Do Power bars give more energy or are they empty calories. They taste disgusting, but my friend says they are good for you.
last time I was in a show, I was getting over a cold and had a mucus situation that made it very hard to sing those high notes. I basically relied on the KMX energy drink right before going onstage, as a way to burn away whatever was in my throat at the time and keep it clear until the 2nd act. By that point, I'd feel pretty horrible but didn't have to sing anymore solos. The stuff is pretty caustic, so I don't know if it's very good for you. If you're looking for healthy, get some vitamins and a wheatgrass shot.

You have to be careful with energy drinks. Many of them are nothing more than high doses of sugar. You have to ask yourself, "Do I need the energy more than the calories?"

I've got a can of SoBe "No Fear" right on my desk. 130 calories in 8 ounces....33g sugar...
but it will get me through my project...

i heart sugar free red bull, even though i know the caffeine is not a good thing.
As someone who has spent long, long hours hiking the Appalachian trail for weeks on end, I can say yes, Powerbars can help you. And they grow on you- I find them palatable now.
My energy drink of choice is Red Bull. It makes you feel alert and energetic, without the shaking.
I prefer energy bars to the drinks.

red bull and vodka ROCKs
The taste of Red Bull was sickening at first. But, I got used to it.
it's definitley an acquired taste. i think the sugarfree actually tastes better.
I like the Snapple Elements ones...not too much energy junk in there...Rain's my favorite.
