It hadn't even occurred to me to search ETSY! Thanks! Of course, now I am trying to decide how to make my own. lol There's a pretty little pink cover on eBay that comes with a clip on light and it's very cheap. I will probably get that to try before I spend anything significant. Thanks for the suggestions! they are too cute.

Kindle-holic here. So easy and near enough fool proof too.

The great thing with human brains is they're fanless, nice and quiet although I'm sure mine whistles a bit sometimes.

I just can't believe she's GIVING me one. I am having surgery in four weeks and it's going to be a Godsend!

spooky that this came up again...I'm visiting my mom tomorrow who just got a new kindle (she actually wore hers out!) and I need to set it up for her. Can I just do it on the kindle or do I have to bring a laptop and reregister her?

It's strange that the kindle cant be read in the dark and the ipad cant be read in the sun...but I do love my kindle cover which has a light on it that runs on the kindle's power and tucks away when not in use.

That's the one I really want, but I don't want to drop the money and shipping costs. There's no Amazon Sweden, so it's all international and has a 25% VAT added.

I have been missing e-mails from work and wanted something to be able to keep up. (We send a lot of them at work). I didn't want, and cannot afford, an iPad right now. I started looking and pared it down to the nook Tablet and Kindle Fire. I think I am going with the nook Tablet.

I want the web browsing features. I am not so up on e-reading but I think it will come in handy. I have been reading a lot and have no place to store books. I decided that i will probably only buy actual books that I will refer to a lot.

I have been back and forth but I like the nook for the expanded memory and the ability to store media on a card. One downfall may be music. It has to be mp3 format and all of the music I have with me is in my ZUNE library. However, the tech person at B&N told me to bring my thumb drive in 9Where I have my ZUNE program stored) and he woulf look at it and see how to convert it. He feels it is possible.

My reasoning for getting this is because I am living wth a friend still. I don't like to "kick" him off of his computer to check e-mails, search for jobs, get on Facebook, etc. I know I may have limited access as the device is wifi driven but I am thinking of getting a router to hook up to his modem so I can use it in the house. I have my laptop and could use that also with wifi at home. But I need some access on the go as I am at work when the bulk of the things I need to read come into my inbox. Also, I have read something about "rooting" the nook to be able to access more things.

Tom said on Facebook a hard (so to speak) edition may come out soon. i'd like an audio version...if you have ever seen his shows, or heard him chime in on Varla Jean Merman's...the man is entertaining!

and of course...."there's an app for that!"....you can download for free a Kindle for PC (likely a Mac version available too) from the Amazon site and then purchase any book you want for it. That's what i did as after my cellie, mini laptop, and aircard for where there is no WiFi...i didn't want to carry another e-device too, for fear i'd soon need a BatBelt.

My IT guy at work helped me choose a tablet for my mom to get my brother for Christmas. I ended up ordering the Vizio which runs on the Android platform. The reviews were good and it wasn't too pricey.

I picked up my nook Tablet on Wednesday evening. Still playing around with it. Was a bit shocked at all of the erotica they have in the free book selection.

Thinking about the NOOK vs Kindle...which Nook did you purchase? Does it come with Free WIFI? Meaning you don't have to look for a HOTSPOT,....the Kindle @ 139 comes with Free WIFI...Thanks.

I don't know about the Nook but the Kindle's "experimental" browser is fairly worthless.

silver, as posted, I got the nook Tablet. I use it in NYC so there are a lot of hotspots and to use it at home I just need a router.
