...I saw a screening of WALK THE LINE a few days ago and didnt really have time to post everything I wanted to about it. I will simply say its 100 times better than RAY (and I thought RAY was a great, epic film so it goes to show you how much of a masterpiece I think WTL is). The direction is so smooth and original, the screenplay is engrossing and involving and best of all, the two main performers are brilliant. Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely riveting, complicated, and wild as Johnny Cash bringing out and showing wonderfully his multifaceted layers in a great interchangable manner that is both accessable and believable. The best performance from the movie, though, is Reese Witherspoon whose June Carter Cash is masterful, powerful, incredible, and totally breathtaking. Her performance will go down in history as monumental for all the right reasons. This is an Oscar-worthy performance if I've ever seen one.
All in all, WALK THE LINE remains the best biopic in ages. It is such a wonderful film that had me in tears, hysterical laughing, and by the end truly and honestly moved by the whole thing. It must be seen to be believed. The best film of the year so far and by far.

That's good to hear.
I didn't care for RAY, so it's also good news that this is better.

I'm thrilled to hear the good news about Reese. I'll definitely be seeing this when it comes out.
I was also not fond of Ray, so I'm glad that this one is better.

Ray had incredible cinematography and acting but everything else was lacking. I really hated how Taylor Hackford used more wipes than George Lucas.
Walk the Line, however, looks awesome.
