Excel question
Excel question#1
Posted: 4/5/09 at 3:25pmIf you have several Excel spreadsheets saved individually in one folder, is it possible to merge them into one workbook where each file is a separate tab in the workbook?
re: Excel question#2

You can copy or move a spreadsheet from one file to another...
If you have both files open...
>right click on the tab (at the bottom of the spreadsheet) of the spreadsheet that you want to copy..
>select "move or copy"
>if you want to copy, check the box by "Create a copy"
(if you do not do this, it will move the sheet out of the file)
>toward the top to the dialog box there is a drop down box titled "To book:", click on the down arrow
>select the name of the file (which needs to be open) where you want to move the sheet (or select "(new book)" if you want to move to a completely new file)
JUST A NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY MOVE THE FIRST 255 CHARACTERS IN A CELL. SO IF YOU HAVE CELLS WITH A LOT OF TEXT, IT WILL TRUNCATE THEM AT 255 CHARACTERS. However, it is usually only a couple of cells that have this many characters, (and if you copied) you can go to the original and do a simple "copy" (from the original cell) and "paste" (to the duplicate cell in the new file).
Other than the above, this will keep formating and formulas working.
I hope that was helpful...
Good luck.
