For what it's worth, insurers already review provider efficiency, and it's all done without breaching patient confidentiality. So don't worry, you can tell your doc that the cream isn't clearing up that rash, and it won't be posted here on BWW.

Wait, so you are claiming the data aggregation requirement to find the most effective forms of treatment are bad?
This is extracted aggregated data that usually is based upon a geographic area to determine what procedures are working effectively (or not). This is not typically individually identifiable information, but usually is depersonalized and aggregated to look at experiences to track trends and try and find what works and what does not.
You probably already provide much of this information to your state regulators.

I never made that claim. What I am saying is that there is no guarantee that with your private information flying all the way to Washington DC and back, there's a huge loss of freedom.
You are 100% certain that in the future, your health information will always remain confidential?

You must be joking? Complete privacy between a doctor and a patient goes out the window the minute any third party enters into the mix. Whether it be an insurance company, a nurse, a secretary, a billing department, a pharmacy or the CDC.

I'm not 100% certain it ever has been.

Exactly. But the way it used to work is that you didn't have to get a third party invovled. Now that the government will control everything it will be government and whomever the government decides needs to know.
