Very few kids would see or notice the New Yorker. And most of those that do will think nothing more of it then snuggling on the couch with their sibling or parent.
For the rest of us, Bert & Ernie are part of OUR childhoods, too. I think its a lovely message.
And I would think, they would need to have Henson's permission for this, no? (And I mean the corp, not the man.)
