They are organizing this "Call2Fall" on 6/30/13.
But is it a church based initiative or a promotion for a Gay Pride event?

I saw this last night.
Hysterical!

Posted: 6/28/13 at 8:59amSo, let me make sure I understand this. The "On our knees for America" is an ANTI-gay slogan? And "I'm in"? All that needs is an exclamation point. I guess these are the same folks that brought us the tea bag imagery?

Posted: 6/28/13 at 10:51amThis appears to be completely legit. They've got a website authorized by the FRC, videos, etc.

Posted: 6/28/13 at 11:07amAnd what does "I'm in" mean?
Family Research Coucil responds to DOMA verdict#8
Posted: 6/28/13 at 11:13amIt's what people say when they've entered and they're not sure if anyone can tell.

Bwahahaha.

Bryan Fischer is freaking out over next week's New Yorker. How soon before the FRC jumps on this one as well?

" All that needs is an exclamation point."
I'd be lying if I did not say I read that "I'm in." with one...

What, this magazine cover?
I think it's hilarious.

Part of me likes it. Part of me doesn't like it.
Bert and Ernie, while being of the male sex, don't have sexual parts. If anything, they're same sex best friends. They don't share a bed.
If the artist wanted to go for a pop reference, why not have Kurt and Blaine? I haven't watched GLEE in a few year, so they may not be a couple, but at least Kurt and Blaine would be having sex.
I don't know.

I love this tweet from someone named Tim Murphy:
How should you talk to your kid about the New Yorker cover? Probably something like, "Damn, you read the New Yorker? You're eight."

Sesame Workshop has a hard enough time being relevant and funded these days. All they need is right-wing groups bashing them for something they're not even promoting. It's kinda tasteless to drag such a great mission into this. Every time this stuff becomes news, they get tarred and feathered and have to defend their position. Over and over again.
Also it's not funny anymore because this joke has been done to death. Someone once made a movie like 5 years ago about Bert and Ernie. Don't we have anything new to send-up?

"Part of me likes it. Part of me doesn't like it."
I'm in the same camp. Bert & Ernie are usually associated with children. It's too easy to make a leap from the subliminal advertising to the sexualization of kids, even pedophilia. Trust me, I'm not the only one in the office who has made that leap. Something about the cover makes me very uncomfortable.

Posted: 6/28/13 at 3:13pmMy thing with Bert and Ernie is that it was said they don't have a sexual orientation, like the rest of the Sesame Street Muppets. If they label them, then they sort of have to label the rest. At least that's how I see it.
