Favorite '60s icons?

Mine is Barbara Parkins not only because she starred in the one of the biggest, gayest, cult films of all time, VALLEY OF THE DOLLS but because I also recently had the privilege of screening all 514 episodes of PEYTON PLACE in which she connived her way through as ambitious bad girl Betty Anderson Harrington Cord Harrington.

That she went from being the bad girl on PP to playing poised, naive sweet little Anne Welles in VOD is a testament to her talent and versatility and I also can't get enough of her drop dead gorgeous looks and that smooth, creamy voice of hers.



She'll curse you out and make it sound like Shakespearean prose.

She also does a mean "frug":



and she's aged gracefully....

Even though they are still popular today, both were premiered to the masses in the 60s.
