Miracle on 34th Street (original)
It's a Wonderful Life
A Muppet Christmas Carol
A Charlie Brown Christmas. Yes, I know it's not a film. But I just love that poor little tree.
I am one of those rare characters that remembers the Rankin Bass "Nestor the Long eared Donkey" TV special from the 1970's. My friends cringe when I unbox the VHS each year....but I love it!
Tacky and overly sentimental...yes, but it ain't xmas without it.
A Charlie Brown Christmas for sure. Do NOT tell me it's not a film. I cried EVERYTIME to that movie and I would watch it 5 times on Christmas day and I'd watch it everyday until Christmas when I was little.
Wow...you must have been a child when VHS was available.
If we weren't parked in front of the TV the night CBS ran the Charlie Brown Christmas special, we were screwed and had to wait another whole year to see it!
ahhh...I can still fondly recall the spinning "CBS special presentation" logo...
Love Actually

Holiday Inn. I watch this every Christmas. Such a great movie. That and Charlie Brown's Christmas. That's such a good movie!
White Christmas. It's a classic.
The funny thing about A Charlie Brown Christmas is that my family taped it from TV on VHS several years ago, and every year we watch the same tape. So now part of the tradition is watching the older commercials, like one where Ronald McDonald goes ice skating on a snowy pond and where the dots from the 7up box drive a fire truck around a Christmas tree. Then we always watch the random episode of The Wonder Years that's after Charlie Brown because my dad didn't stop the tape - it's the one where Kevin and his dad go buy a suit.

j/k...I don't get how anyone can pick anything other than:
It's a Wonderful Life
Not only is it one of the best movies of all time, it is the true spirit of Christmas. It actually helped to inspire my family to not give gifts for Christmas, but instead, donate money to charity in people's names.
Scrooge w/ Albert Finney
A Christmas Story
The Ref
A Very Brady Christmas
EMMET OTTER'S JUGBAND CHRISTMAS. I freakin want a soundtrack for it too! I've always thought it would be great on stage as well.
I want a soundtrack too WonderBoy, but I'm really excited that they finally released it on DVD.
Emmet Otter on DVD
My favorite holiday film is John Waters' "FEMALE TROUBLE" starring Divine. When she shoves her mother into the Christmas tree because Santa didn't bring her the cha-cha heels she asked for..........BRILLIANT

Confession: I've never seen A Christmas Story or Miracle on 34th Street.
However, I am ashamed that I forgot to mention White Christmas and Christmas in Connecticut. Those movies are so sweet.
that's a great story, CM. long live the videotape!
I keep forgteting movies! I'm now adding Home Alone, Elf and Bad Santa to my list as well. In fact, I don't think there's been a Christmas movie I've seen that I haven't liked.
DG - we have so much in common! I sang a song from that production in my act last year.
My fav's are:
The Littlest Angel
The House Without a Christmas Tree
Meet Me In St. Louis
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (original cartoon, not Jim Carey)
A Christmas Story, of course.
BTW, Charlie Brown XMas fans, just read this morning that Urban Outfitters is selling a replica of the Charlie Brown tree. I just may buy one...
