Dane Cook, Mitch Hedberg, Lewis Black, Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams.

I was so sad when I heard about Mitch Hedberg's passing. He was truly a genius.

Of course! how could I forget Jon Stewart?
And as long as I'm adding people to the list, I should add Stephen Colbert and Amy Sedaris.

Mitch Hedberg re: Favorite Comedian
Jimmy Norton
Ryan Stiles (Who I think is insanely cute...)
Colin (I'm not daring to spell it, but he's on Whose Line as well.)

Well, I'm glad he got away with it.

Many of these are favorites. One I haven't seen mentioned is Stephen Wright.

He's not really a stand-up comedian, but to me there's nothing funnier than David Sedaris reading his own stories aloud.

Woody Allen's stand-up routines in the 1960's were sheer brilliance.

Rich Vos[s] is also pretty funny. He doesn't really have a 'schtik', well he does, but he picks on his qudience a lot. Love him.

Well, I'm glad he got away with it.

So, who has everyone actually seen perform stand-up live?

I've seen Jerry Seinfeld and Lewis Black.

gilbert gottfreid is a strange, irritating genius but i cannot take my eyes off him when he is on tv.
the first time i saw steve martin (he was on the tonight show strumming a banjo and making balloon animals) i laughed harder than i've ever laughed.
we used to hide the richard pryor albums from my mom.
as a child NOTHING was funnier than listening to bill cosby do THE CHICKEN HEART --nothing. we imitated it endlessly.
i love the art of the 60's political comics, and i have a special place in my heart for bob newhart.

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.
