So, as some of you may or may not know, my favorite singer/actress/dancer...all around performer of all time is Judy Garland. I was thinking about all the great films Judy has made and was thinking of my top 3 favorite moments. I came up with:
#1. Get Happy-Summer Stock
#2. The Trolley Song- Meet Me in St. Louis
#3. Born in a Truck Sequence- A Star is Born
Do you have any favorite Judy moments? Movies, performances? share!

I can't help it - singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in THE WIZARD OF OZ.
And the end line of that film gets me every time.

Get Happy - electric!
The Man That Got Away - mesmerizing!
...I'd say something from Meet Me in St. Louis, but Margaret O'Brien steals that movie away from Ms. Garland something fierce...

Well, besides every single one...
and besides the ones chosen already...
I love the "Lose That Long Face"/Dressing Room Breakdown scene in A STAR IS BORN.
Actually every single musical number in that movie is bliss.
A few of my favorite lines from her movies:
"I don't know if we're the Three Musketeers, or the Three Blind Mice." - THE HARVEY GIRLS
Don Hewes: A girl dancer has to be exotic; she has to be - a peach.
Hannah Brown: I suppose I'm a lemon! - EASTER PARADE
Esther Smith: I'm going to let John Truett kiss me tonight.
Rose Smith: Esther Smith.
Esther Smith: Well, if we're going to get married, I may as well start it.
Rose Smith: Nice girls don't let men kiss them until after they're engaged. Men don't want the bloom rubbed off.
Esther Smith: Personally, I think I have too much bloom. Maybe that's the trouble with me. - MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS
I could go on, so I won't :)

A Little movie she made in the 60's, A Child is Waiting. No singing, just great acting(should of been nominated for an Oscar.) John Cassavetes directed her as a teacher of mentally distrubed children.
One of the last scenes at the end when she is watching her students in a play.(heartbreaking) What an actress!!

John Truett: Say, that is nice perfume.
Esther Smith: Do you like it? It's Essence of Violet. I save it for on special occasions.
John Truett: Exactly the kind my grandmother uses.
*close eyes in sync with sound cue* <- awesome!

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"

I'll choose (TODAY!):
The song "Everybody Sing," which is NOT from the film Everybody Sing but from The Broadway Melody of 1938, and
"Hello, Bluebird," from I Could Go On Singing, which can also be found at the YouTube link below. I love this song because she--literally!--pulls that last high note out of nowhere.
Hello Bluebird., from the television special, Judy and Her Guests: Phil Silvers and Robert Goulet, March 19, 1963

Posted: 6/1/06 at 4:51pmMeet Me in St Louis! When I was a little girl, my grandfather used to sing the Trolley Song to me. He died when I was about 11, but I always think of him when I hear that song. Then there is Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. I am reduced to a puddle of tears.
