haha- yes, I figured. Face scraps....hmmm....haha. I can just imagine the teen and child fanbase seeing Son of a Witch as a musical. Their parents would cover their eyes and run the kids away screaming.

Glad you all understood the book. I hated it.
But Sarima would have been interesting to see. I agree with you on that.

Yes- a lot of lovers of the musical hated and didn't understand the book. I admit when I read it 2 years ago for the 1st time, I didn't get it. I still am a little confused at some parts. But I do love the style

Granny, especially near the end of the book. Oh, and I heart Crope and Tibett.

On a side note, HATED Turtle Heart, Manek, and Avaric...and Frex and Melena. Idiots.

All tThe characters would just work better in a mini-series than a musical. The book is just too dark and psychological. How else could you condone showing a young child, no matter how devilish, being killed by a falling icicle? I can't imagine how you can perk that up with a song.

Definitely Nanny. She was an intergral part of the book. But the character would never work in the musical as it is almost an entirely different story.

Nanny... definitely. Could have been interesting in the show... though there's totally NO place for her in the current musical.
that's a really big mic...

Avaric wasn't kicked out.

The musical's "Fiyero" combines the two characters (Avaric and Fiyero) into one.

If you think about it, Fiyero in the musical is MUCH more like Avaric was in the book. He's certainly not the scared, quiet, shy type.

the book has to be read first.....frankly the book is so much better than the musical, but if anything read the book FIRST

That's the way I did it. Had I picked up the book after the show I would have been very surprised. Can you imagine all those 'tween girls expecting the ribbons and bows story of the stage show?

As for characters, I think the gigantic pissing elephant would have been an interesting inclusion.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Actually using the Clock of the Time Dragon as more than a pretty set piece would have been splendid.
