Man this movie was good! One of the best comedies, ever. Can't believe I avoided it for so long. I thought it was gonna be stupid penis jokes, but it was very smart penis jokes. One of the most thoughtful movies about sex and dating, ever.
This would be a really fun musical IMO.
I liked it, but I like Knocked up and Superbad better.
I LOVE 40 Year Old Virgin. Every minute of it is just completely hilarious. I adore Steve Carrell in the first place, of course, but it wasn't just him that made this movie. Knocked Up was also hilarious but I wasn't too fond of Superbad. Honestly, I thought it was just...super...bad.
Haven't seen knocked up, but was disapointed with superbad: great performances, mediocre script. The whole thing with the cops got old fast.
Totally agree on Superbad. Michael Cera is fantastic, but you can only do so much with a screenplay that relied more on being shockingly raunchy than actually funny. The cops were more irritating than anything else. But if you like 40 Year Old Virgin you HAVE to see Knocked Up. Good movie.
Love Love Love The 40 Y.O. Virgin
Probably at least in part because I anticipate being one.
Well maybe you'll lose it at 40 to that special person you've been waiting for.
I LOVE the Indian guy with the gutter mouth. Every time he went off on string of cuss words, it just cracked me up! Glad you're no longer a 40 Year Old Virgin virgin!
I wasn't crazy about this, but it's been a while since I watched it. Maybe I should give it another go...
The indian guy was great, as was the drunk driver chick. She killed me. Paul Rudd was hilarious too, especially the " you know how I know you're gay" routine
"I want some Freeench Toast."
ok, I dont know why since I didnt post this message, but I keep getting emails saying that people are replying my post (and Ive never even posted here... only on the student board, a while ago), and then linking me to this post? does anyone know why this is happening?

I have to say, I really hated this movie, except for the "I am in Bombay, India" part. Usually I'm all for silly, stupid, tasteless humor - but this just didn't do it for me, I'm sorry to say
I don't even know what the Bombay India thing is. Is that even in this movie?

I thought this was one of the best comedies in years. The humor walked a fine line between raunchy and smart, the characters were completely original, and it had a heart beating in the middle of all the crazy action.
I've thought it would make a good musical too except I don't really think these are the sort of characters who would sing musical theater songs you know? Those sort of musicals are always sort of uncomfortable.
I wanted to like it, but I didn't. It tried to rise above SNL status, and it did in a couple of moments, but not enough for me. Just not my thing. The only time I've ever really enjoyed David Carrell was in Little Miss Sunshine.
you mean Steve Carrell
