re: First Look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

Depp as the Queen of Hearts would be epic! Hahaha

And Craig's description was prefect! Willy Wonka and Sweeney Todd's lovechild.

With that said, I'm sure I'll see this opening day. Depp is my favorite actor and Burton is my favorite director, and I love all of the films they done together, but I agree with the fact they should hold off for a little while on doing projects together.

I think it looks pretty creepy, but I like it. Exactly the sort of look I would expect from Burton and his creative crew. Very interested in seeing the Queens and more importantly, Alice!

I'm guessing he's holding the March Hare.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I didn't notice the rabbit either!

And what is up with photos on this site?

One second they are there, the next, you just get an X. And it's the same in Fan Photos. Red X's everywhere!

Skunk ape indeed...

Johnny Depp never fails to disturb me! How come Tim Burton is obsessed with turning Johnny Depp pale? He's so tan; why is he never allowed to look tan in Burton films?

That said, I actually prefer my Mad Hatter look for the production I'm in right now. I look like a feminine cross between Elton John, Sir Percy Blakeney, and Harold Zidler from Moulin Rouge. (What... my show opens in three days, and I've got Alice In Wonderland on the brain...)

re: First Look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

It looks like a photoshopped conglomeration of Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Tood, Willy Wonka, and the Ichabod Crane.

Boring, and if you'll pardon the pun, old hat.

This, with fairly evident, erm, breasts. My favourite part is the pimp cane. Oh, and our March Hare looks like Snape. By the way, our Cheshire Cat has Edward Scissorhands hands...

re: First Look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

It just occured to me that his performance in this film is motion-captured, so he never actually wears a costume (unless you consider a blue skin tight suit with dozens of ping pong balls a costume).
I'm guessing that this is production art or a composite, not an actual photo.

It's a mix of live-action and performance-capture, not just the latter. I'll assume more of the fantasy elements like the Cheshire Cat will be performance-capture.

Ohhhhh.

Yeah, they did that for Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars, but what I'd thought you meant was live again fully against blue screen. Well that'll be...interesting...

I thought Polar Express was pretty cool, I didn't go see Beowulf though.
