Looks like Helena Bonnam Carter to me.

^I agree with Weez. I mean, Depp has been in every film Burton has made since 2005...He's only made four films since then, but still, it's gotten quite boring.

That costume/make-up is pretty sick, I must say :P

I kind of agree though- I think Johnny and Tim should take a little break from each other haha. Don't get me wrong, I will see ANYTHING with Johnny, and I'm a pretty big fan of Tim too. They do great work together. But whenever Johnny works with him he ends up doing the same really quirky, dark roles! And he's BRILLIANT at them, but... he's such a VERSATILE actor, and you wouldn't necessarily know it if you just saw the films he's done with Tim!

He needs to do more movies like Finding Neverland, and Benny & Joon (which is my fav), and Blow, and Don Juan DeMarco. THOSE are the kinds of movies that really show off how incredibly versatile he is :)

(again though, it's not like I'm not excited to see him as the Mad Hatter! Of COURSE I'll be seeing the movie, and I'll most likely love it. But I do agree they both need to branch out a bit)
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Wow - now we know what Willy Wonka and Sweeney's Todd's love child would look like

After Sweeney Todd, I was over Tim Burton. I also was not really crazy about Willy Wonka. Depp was good but I wasn't crazy about his tke on the character. He had the look for Sweeney but I was not crazy about his voice. And Helena as Ms. Lovitt, well that just did it for me. I will most likely rent Alice in Wonderland but I won't see it in a theater.

He sort of looks like the photos of Angela Lansbury in DEAR WORLD.

Or really wacked-out Billie Burke in THE WIZARD OF OZ.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I think he looks scary. I hope this is good. I love the Burton-Depp projects. Im not tired of them at all.
I think I might be the only one left!

I always wondered what Sweeney Todd might look like, if he went Trick-or-Treating as the Artful Dodger.

Now I know.

He looks like Johnny Depp in another Tim Burton film. In other words, exactly how I expected him to look. No surprises there.

re: First Look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

I hope the film won't be another disappointment. My daughter in law and her mom and I are "Alice in Wonderland" groupies. Several years ago there was a made for t.v. movie of AIW. So we had a big costumed tea party. It was fun until we watched the movie, which was a big disappointment.

Looking at Johnny Depps costume makes me think that all the costumes will be dark earth tones which could be effective. The original artwork for AIW was not your typical storybook art. No color pictures. I remember as a child looking at the pictures in a book we had. I was fine with it until it got to the picture of the dutchess spanking the baby. She was one ugly dutchess.

Whatever Burton does I hope he keeps it kid friendly, my little grandson had no use for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".

I may not know a lot about theater but I know that I love it.

He still looks like Edward Scissorhands. Any time you put dark eyemakeup and a little lipstick on Johnny Depp, you'll get Edward Scissorhands.
